Trunk Class

USACI is going to experiment with a trunk class for 2009. Two classes. Anyone got any ideas on how to break them down?

i am not sure that this will ever be completely cleared up.

well i say we make our own rules an i think number one rule is

you got to have a trunk car no hatch or semi hatches welcome
everything inside the trunk
0 600 one amp and 0 1000 can be 2 or more i suppose amps

an what is the wr now for trunk class

I think they should've finalized the rules before the dang season started

i remember a certain problem with this last year. They made rules for unmanned and then decided right before finals that they would make all rules before the season started..
here we go again.

The rules are made and posted on the USACI site. Download and read them PRIOR to posting here based on assumptions folks.

Alright sounds like a plan just don't recall seeing an announcement about it. I'm glad that we switched 0-1000 to 2 amps

one thing i see as unclear is the trunk class is based on stock rules ,however , are the stock classes for consumers only or are pro competitors able to compete in trunk class ?

Let me try to help. I had this conversation with Ralph a couple weeks ago and he said that Trunk was open to all competitors. I added what I hoped was the pertinent info on the Outlaw rules that I have on my web site and suggested he do the same to the official rules. He said he did but I don't know where he put it.

On my site, you will see it in 2 places. It is written on the class matrix at the opening of the rules. Then if you scroll down a few lines and click on "Trunk" you will see it again. http://caraudioevents.com/Outlaw%20SPL%20Rules.htm

I will look for it again in the official rules too.

Gee Mike, aren't you the one that says "if its not in the rule book, its not a rule"??? Well, you have a "rule" on your website that is not a rule in USACi Rules. Now prey tell. which web-site has priority. yours or the USACi web-site. Just like you said, you would not do "trunk" until it was in the Rule Book, "pros are not allowed until Ralph puts it in the " I think official Rule Book", lol

As I stated earlier, Ralph did tell me that he had posted the "Pro's invited" comments into the rule book and I just took him at his word. Evidently that was not quite the case. I apologize for circumventing my own reasoning about if it's not a written rule, it's just not a rule. I will have a chat with our leader tomorrow and see if we can't straighten this out.
