| I only comment on amps that I personally have had experience with that is all... I don't get involved much with discussion of amps I know nothing about. Which is why I was in on the discussion with mmats amps, PD2000 amps and now the M3. I have no experience at all with kicker, atomic etc. so I basically stay out of those topics. Don't want to pretend to know anything about brands I haven't used is all. | |

| well dds euro site should shed some light on this situation and should be banned just like atomic for knowingly underating their amps. records should be stripped as well if anyone used this amp to set any records. i know jess and steve personally and they are both great guys, but someone changed these ratings fora reason and noone is telling us why so we are left to think the worst here unfortunately. | |

Not to be an ass, but if this is the case...shouldn't Kicker also be banned for the kx1200.1? It was knowingly underrated. And I have seen 750.1 birthsheets in the 900w+ range. There has to be some common ground we can all find here. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't pass. But the DD rating change came during the that 30% over was allowable. I would like to see at least 2 random amps tested whenever reratings occur. This would give a more realistic picture of what the amps can actually do.

| If you guys think DD's intention for the M3 was a USACI class you are way off. They didn't even know what the new classes where when the amp came out. LOL | |

| Sry Jimbo,
If I would have been told by an member of the team that thought about using the amp, I would have shed my findings first, before them buying and useing the amp.
Ask me to do any research on amps, I will gladly dig up what I can. Have time on my hands at night to do this.

| These companies don't make there money selling a handful of amps to competitors. They make there money selling to the general public. Call any of them and ask who they target...USACI competitors that are always looking for a deal or the everyday consumer that would actually prefer to see a higher rating on the box or in the manual. Hmmmmmmmm | |

| read the test results, it was an average of 3 different tests to get those result. my statements were made because the amps were rated correctly, then change to fit a smaller class and all records of the original ratings were erased after they were publicly released. thats fraudulant. kicker never changed their ratings, they stayed the same for many years until protested and rerated. | |

| yes chris, but do you think its going to matter to a consumer if it says 2400w or 2700w? NO! its over 2000w so what do they care? but the one who do benefit from wer the competitors and i'll bet money that they seena nice jump in sales on a fairly expensive amp because of this small 300w difference. | |

chris, the mysterious power rating change happened way after the classes were established last year, sometime in june, heck here is a pretty reliable source from usaci even commenting that the dd site said 2700 at the time http://forum.soundpressure.com/showthread.php?t=4492 |

| I remember that post as well, and this line pops out a bit.
The M3 is a very tough amp, it makes all of it's 2700W rated power and more.

| How many amps do you think where sold to competitors vs. consumers? 3 peoople ran them last year in 0-600 that I know of maybe a couple more. Ah crap who cares....this has turned into you and I going back and forth about the M3. The point should be to not have this happen again. You still haven't put up any suggestions as to how to help with that. Other than to not run questionable amps... to a point I agree... the veteran competitors probably have a better idea what amps could be questionable but what about the newbies that come on here asking what amp they should get and everyone in the for sale section says "these amps are the ones to have". Again I say give them a list to look at that is ok'd by USACI and WON'T CHANGE. Then they know they are buying a legit amp with no future issues. | |

| If an amp is in question, that is new, I feel it should be tested and rated before use. This would help in stopping this from happening every year.
Thoughts ? | |

| I personally will not buy or suggest any use amps that are not rated by usaci. It just isn't worth this crap. I'm sure Cactus is happy...the top amp in the class has now been knocked off....hmmm wonder what the next best amp will be??? Cactus? Fly in just under the limit and be "the amp to have". | |

| i never said they made a killing off of these amps, i just said ill bet the sales went up after the rerating. and i dont see a newbie coming on here and buying whatever amp i tell him to cause he's going to get 20 different answers to that question. he will do some research and buy what he thinks is the best amp. now he may not be an engineer, but ill bet he asks someone with experience before he spends $1000 on anything! so call it an educated buy for him, but i'd be willing to put money on it that he knows it may not pass if tested. just my opinion. | |

| I am sure this is why he is sending his amps in to be rated first, before posting there rateings.
Smart for an manufacture that is new and joins an org, if you ask me.
