So we are doing this unified finals thing again right? in KC right?
ive known it for a long time, but the unified thing this weekend really brought it to my mind. Usaci has no place for these guys in other orgs to come play. nearly every db drag car would probly be in 1801+ or mod 4000+ . whats the point of having a shared finals if competitors cant runs the orgs that are there. i think clamped times are coming anyway, but i think with how we are planning on doing finals might be a good chance to start working on them sooner and snag up some more finals entrys. i know usaci has been working to build back up the midwest.. where MWSPL and DB Drag are pretty popular.. and our finals will be in the midwest this year again.. so why wouldnt we want some of them to run usaci while they are there?? plus i think some classes that done require the special 500w@4ohm ap of the season are definitly a plus. mwspl and db drag both have a under 4000w clamped trunk class as well as a 2000w and believe 4000w and under stock type class. not saying change all our classes just yet. but why not maybe lose trunk 0-1 and replace it with the 4k and under class.. and maybe add in a 2000w and 4000w clamped stock class. real stock.. panels in etc. i think there is finals entrys to be snagged up here as well as introducing usaci to clamping classes. people love clamping classes 100000 times more than being forced to buy a RD d5 to be competitive.

we are forgetting that db drag classes cost twice what a usaci class does since they have to have the biggest baddest amplifiers that do the most power on limited batteries.

its cheaper for them to by an amp, and plan on what usaci class they would like to run as aposed to usaci competitors to buy big ass amps to play in drag. Also you might not be aware of this but some of the usaci guys asked about running a drag class and was told nope sorry no points no run so this is what needs to be adressed and fixed before we start screwing up thw classes to accomidate some but not all.

if jimbo wasnt doing 165's they would have jumped across hell i give Murrilo props for doing it in the past, and to be honest he ahd a chance to win as well

That's not the case jeff. Those clamped classes have 2000w and 4000w ratings max. Not just buy a big amp anymore man. And yeah im sure if they had no points they couldn't run. But idwest guys have an opportunity to get points for drag and usaci. And Louisiana will probably have some db drag events aswell

And also. I didn't say change all our classes. I said lets add a stock clamped classes that mwspl and drag guys can play in

the unified finals probly want designed to allow cross over as much as it was to share the cost of finals between 3 orgs and to allow more spectators as well

ss was designed with just that in mind to bring them over

of course. Because thier builds arent competitive against jimbo.. the only reason thry would have to be in his class is because a silly 4ohm rating when they probably have half his power. I want this post to be taken serious . So lets not turn it into a pissing match.

The ssnw thing seems silly to be "the" xover classes.

ill say this in 2004 or 2005 Brad Frigard showed up to usaci finals with 6 10's and some z1's his street c build if i remember correctly, and did great in a class he never ran before so why cant others. is it because of how fast we are progressing in the numbers?????

the amplifier ratings isnt the issue because if that was the case DB DRAG would have had 5 times the competitors we did and well that didnt happen either.

No i couldn't because its 4000w rated max and clamped. But im not saying every class needs to xover. Drag has a few small clamped stock classes and i know mwspl clamps and theres a hanfull in both orgs that would help entrys and usaci grow and have some competitive classes with more than 1 or 2 cars

agreed to me street beat is dead, and trunk isnt as old to even compare to street beat.

i wanna see 0-1000 clapmed, and 1001+

Alan, coming from the db drag trunk world, I think it is a great idea. I wish all orgs would move away from manufacture rating and go to clamped power. NSPL on the east coast does that, it is looking like db drag will do it next season. I know I for one had to buy all new amps in order to compete in db drag this season because of the way they made the rule max manufacture rms rating. I know it was a pain for Terry to switch out amps through out finals to accommodate the different orgs. If db drag was strictly clamped power Terry could have keep the 2 m4a's in the car and just adjusted the volume to keep the clamped power down. Just my two cents

Look at street stock which is 2000 rated/clamped and street trunk thats 4000 rated/clamped . These are the 2 classes im.talking about. Not counting the mwspl guys that would probably run a clamped usaci class if it was offered also, since we will be in their backyard

SO WHY DONT THEY JUST COMBINE THE 3 ORGS MAKE THEM 1 AND DO ONE FINALS SO EVERYONE IS HAPPY

Definitely wont be perfect cross overs. But at least much closer. Im not trying to make anyone happy. Im trying to bring competition from other orgs and keep it decently fair. We have finals on KC. Thats all these clamped orgs back yard. Although ive played in them
Ive never been a fan of the 4 ohm amp game or being forced to own amps from.whichever manufacturer builts one, im still not saying redo all the classes.. but introduced new ones

Actually trunk had the most competitors the past 2 year right? Didnt we have like 6 in 0-1 last year and 3 in 1000+ this year. What was the turnout numbers in the other classes, they aren't much better.

But. Lets say those new classes did fail. That means we shouldn't ever try another new one? Especially ones that had the biggest turn out in other orgs?

SB might not have had that great of a turn out at finals but I would be throughout the year it has just as many entries as the other classes. You can't look at just finals to see how popular a class is.

yeah im not not saying kill any classes. besides maybe swap out our lower trunk class to a clamped class and 1001+ would be a open class still

You could do say a 0-4k trunk class and an unlimited trunk class. With the amps that are used in the 0-1k class now isn't that kinda the power people are getting anyways. You would just have more freedom when it comes to choosing amps.

Jeff thats not true man. Terry b. Uses 2 dd m2b for his drag class.. Have you looked into the rules for the classes im.talking about? Im talking about bringing in clamped competitors.. from any org or class that clamp . Your thinking db drag as a whole.
