Tunin day turn out!!

We opened our shop, equip, and knowledge for a tunnin day today and thought we'd post the results. Had a Cavalier running trunk class hittin 144db found his box was 5 cubes with a 3" round port 9.5" long (Wayyy small) changed him to a 4X10 port 4" long now hittin 149.8db; 5.8db increase. Second car was running a 5.5 cube box with a 3.5"x14.5" 15" long tuned to 36hz approx, hittin 146.4. Changed to 8" long and now hittin 148.9 gained 3.5db. Had a few beers and good time. So in all we gained 6.3db today within just a few hours of work. Thinking about once a month maybe doing one of these, in Topeka obviously, what's ur thoughts on this? I know we're helpin the comp but we're all here to have fun right?

damn bro that is a great idea man i wish we had shops around here that we can do that at. actually a buddy of mine has a meter an wish we could get some team members down so we can do some testing like that. right on man that cavi looks sweet man that 149 isn't bad out of a trunk thats actually about 5 or 6 db's higher than my previous sb score on one 15 46hz, 1800 watts, an one batt in trunk

Well im actually hittin 145s on Usaci meters now...the meter we got doesent have the globe on it.

hopw do these cars actually street beat now.. to real music? seems like you tuned them decently high now.. but this kinds of stuff is forsure good for the sport..

Wow all these sponsorships gettin thrown around. Would have been nice back in the day when I was building for people to give me free stuff.

I guess the times have changed, if people with almost no stats, and low scores can get hooked up for free I should have no problem

I know back in the day, I remember back in 1990, were you in Junior high yet?, I went to my first comp in Pheonix and thought I had a great ride and there were MTX, Orion, and Fosgate vehicles everywhere and here I was running the very first crunch speaker ever made. The original one withthe orange pulse that just said "The Crunch" man I got my butt handed to me. If not for all these Sponsored vehicles. Heck yeah sponsorship must have gotten a lot easier, just find some great guys that have a good attitude and help them out as much as you can for almost no return. You otta try it out it has gotten a whole lot easier. If I remember right you had some great numbers maybe a little backing from some companies will get you even better. Good luck let me know who picked you up I always like to see support from the companies we like.

I may have not very much stats,But who cares...Getting a sponsorship is a combonation of knowing the right people and having the right attitude.And apparently thats why you never got sponsored.The fact you pointed out I dont have "stats" or"high numbers" is a stab at what I have accomplished.Maybe if you spent a little more time making you car look better... than louder,you would catch a sponsors eye.

Considering your both "pro's" now, and also cant run in trunk classes anymore, I guess I wont have the honor of running aginst you guys

Well since you have a crx its a no brainer you will beat me. But see to me its not impressive to be loud in a crx.You can power 6x9s in a crx and hit 130. A fartbox in a crx will probably always beat me...But my setup looks awesome and hits around 150, I cant have a box with ports protruding out the back covered in duct tape. I compete in Car shows,So the process on my build was to make a setup that looks clean and can preform...We did a good job doing that i think.

what about some of the free stuff you got from manufactures shouldnt you be sb5 also.
