Aside from that it's also for all the simple questions that are being asked by noobs that are covered in the rulebook such as "can I have my amps in front of the b pillar" Damn, it's in the rules. All speaker enclosure or baffle boards, other than those in the doors, kick panels or floorboard must be located behind the “B” pillars. This is where it says kick panels are ok.

- Jimbo I guess thats where the part OEM equivalent would come into play, maybe Mike missed that in his original post even though he posted it. An hf door panel is equivalent to an SI one, so it's be good. It snaps right on.
And another thing people keep missing is they are only saying half of the rule, they keep saying no mods to the passenger campartment or exterior of the vehicle and they stop right there and say no mods, well thats not the whole rule, the whole rule is
"No modifications will be allowed to the interior of the passenger compartment or exterior of the vehicle in order to facilitate the audio system."
notice the "in order to facilitate the audio system" part. Adding A-pilliar turbo gauges, or swapping to another oem equivalent door panel, painting your dash peices, or going to an aftermarket steering wheel are all mods, however, they are not facilitating the audio system so they are ok. BOOM! there it is.

| Ya Cause we all love cars and doin custom stuff to the interior is fun, I'm gunna put gauges where my old cluster used to be in the dash, I was told u cant??? My van had a bad A/C and heater so the previous owner pulled all that out and now thats somehow a mod? If I dont want A/C in my spl van I'm not gunna put all that back in! I would rather spend my money trying to get loud! Alot of stuff infront of my B-pillar will be CUSTOM and I dont wanna hear shitttt about cheating!!!!!! Cause I dont cheat and maybe thats why I am not loud but im still having fun! | |

- Does this have anything to do with the post that got taken down about cheating in midwest spl and the dashes being redone in wood with tape over it???? Ive been gone a few days and noticed that one was gone so it either got interesting and deleted or just deleted.... So what all did i miss..
Just to clarify - No one has got caught cheating in our format yet . The photos were of a members vehicle he bought from someone else and was planning on competing with. It was brought to my attention that some vehicles ( including the one he bought ) had this type of modification. I posted what I did on our forum to let everyone know in advance ... this type of "modification" won't be allowed. Maybe this was for the best in both organizations. To get all the vehicles back on a level playingfield and get some consistancy in judging. No matter what organization, its for the better of all competitors involved. I have said many times, the TOP SPL competitors are either 1.) playing in the grey area and bending the rules or 2.) Cheating. This goes for any organization. But, also, just because someone is loud ... doesn't mean their cheating. Many people work VERY hard on their systems. They know their vehicle better than themselves. Usually the person that wins, just flat out trys harder. For those that have to cheat to win ... 3 words ... suck a *ick

I replaced my center vents with a gauge cluster.....I know that moves me to super mod. If I chose to run stock, which I may at some point, I have another set of vents to put back in so I can be legal. It's a sound quality car so it really doesn't matter though.

| oh and i put my air gauges where my heat/ac controls were to. actually used the stock peice and just smoothed it out and cut holes for the gauges. how does this sit with you? its the stock piece, just fileed some parts in and cut some parts out. if that makes me supermod, your an idiot. hell according to your iterpretations of the rules, we better have stock radios in cause an aftermarket is a mod, lol. god forbid we put a tv in there or playstation. | |

| You can have a playstation or tv in your vehicle....that is not the modification we are talking about. It is not doing anything to alter the audio, now I just hope you can afford to replace it when the BASS screws it up |
