I think you guys have yourselves all worked up for something you can't fix.
This org is putting "different" competitors and trying to homogenize them.
Then they are "re-extract" them by making "classes and rules".
In race car terms don't try to race formula 1 with Nascar and Dirt Trackers.
Yes they may all be racing but they are different, just like these are all spl but they are have very different skillsets applied to them. Its one thing to engineer a 12 volt 1000 watt system with one sub, it's yet another skill to engineer a 24 amp 16sub 100000 watt Van.
One of the main reasons formula 1 and NASCAR rules are set they way they are is because multiclass racing is next to impossible to regulate. Why do you think all F1 cars weigh the same, Nascar engine displacement is fixed....
My suggestion is this....
Make a division with one vehicle (crx, s10's, escalades, who cares what).
limited(arbitrary doesn't really matter what the limitation is and keep it for years) / unlimited. Pro's and Amateurs are both invited
Create a division for Amateurs based on suggested retail price.
1000/2000/ 5000(again arbitrary). This will drive consumers to the retailers. And give some hope to newbies.
Think and flame me accordingly.
