whats the procedures for one going back to stock.

dont get all jumpy I am not doing this, I know where I belong. Just was wondering, I know Jeff C was wanting to, i heard others may want to as well.

I think the pro thing needs to be completely revised anyhow.

Anybody should be able to run either.

I thought it was ..... you had to take a year off or somthing like that or a year away from the industry...

I just read through the rules and didnt see anything.

two years off is what i have been told from a couple of people

it might be in the sq rules cant remember, but something like 2-3 yrs detached from whatever made you pro to begin with

theres a post about it on here some place i read it about 2 months ago or so... but i forget how long ya need to be gone

in the sq section it says 1 year

here is what it says in sq rules, Ralph can you confirm if this applies to spl as well

Some that have gone pro may not be able to afford the expense of the pro classes and want to go down to stock classes or maybe not

I say it should be 12v and 16v stock. I work at a shop, but I don't receive any more help than if I didn't. Pricing or otherwise. The shop I work at doesn't support my competing in any way. That is why Jason and I decided to run mod. Would have preferred to stay in a stock class, but rules say pro or above.

I was wondering this same thing except my situation is different. I was in Pro in SPL because I worked at a shop, but now that I've moved on to my engineering job and struck up an interest in SQ, should I have to be pro in SQ even though I have no shop support/experience with the SQ side of things? Interested to hear your thoughts!

Matt have you been away from the shop for 1 year? If so your good and thats that.

Not one year yet but by the time I get my car the way I want it, I should be good. I don't foresee a completely stealth OEM looking install winning at the finals level anyway but it would have a better chance in a consumer division than a pro division that requires a more extravagant install. I really want this car to sound great without any visible changes. Everything will look just like it did when I bought the car.

Once a pro, if you go back, at this point...YOU ARE A WANKER!!!!!

Ok ok, I know what some of you are saying, "holy crap Zac is right again", and yeah the rest of you are saying "holy crap thats total bs Zac!"

Ok, yeah, to those that don't agree with that, re-read where I said "if" pro really means "pro".
What I'm saying is IF, we are in fact all in agreement that the Pro class is reserved for and filled with the top USACi professional competitors, then hell yes once a pro always a pro.

To those of you that believe Pro is separated from Stock by nothing more than a few arbitrary rules then yeah, your right, I'm way off base to say pro is for the big boys and once a big boy always a big boy.

And guess what?, I agree. Like Robert and I have been saying for years, pro and stock really are only separated by voltage.
The whole "if you work for" or "get discounts" bs, is well, flat out bs. Any and everybody in USACi gets equipment at discounted rates, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!, not some, ok read it again for those of you that disagree, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!! yup, I challenge anybody to come on here and tell us they paid paid full retail for "ALL" the equipment in their ride, if they do, I'll be the first to slap'em across their lyin ass mouth, unless they're really huge and I'm scared of them, in that case I'll make Nene slap them for me....wait....h...now i've got myself thinkin, what if its Nene that tells me he bought everything at retail...great, now i've got myself in a pickle...back up, now that I think about it, i'm not gonna slap anybody but best believe all of us know anyone who says they paid retail, we know your a liar!!!

So that brings us to real world, not some bs, real differences, the only one I can find is voltage limit.

I say we allow anybody to run stock or Pro. The only way a person could not run Pro is if they had a formal and publicly expressed sponsorship.

Personally, I feel that stock classes are filled with talent equal to pro.
"Pro" doesnt mean anything in USACi. We all know eachother, we all know who runs what, we all know we get our gear discounted, we all help eachother, we all know the stock guys are equally capable as the pros....so why do we have this fake image surrounding a class that you can walk in and out of with a years time?

I watched the World Series of Poker lastnight, there were amateurs and pros.
Do you think that if one of those pros stopped playing for a year he could come back as a regular player?

The idea of having Pro stock and Stock is fine IF USACi would RESPECT the word PRO.
They would have to change the rules to once PRO always PRO, if not, then pro doesnt mean jack sh!t other than using 16volt systems. In the current state, anybody should be able to run Pro or Stock, regardless of their work history or buying power.


Lets call a spade a spade.


If you truly think of yourself as a pro and think your better than stockers, then tell Ralph you feel that once a pro always a pro and you cant ever go back, until then, your nothing more than a stocker with 16volt batts, believe it.

hmmm im pro and it was my choice, and noone is filling my pockets with cash to be that way therefore I could care less what you think, or how you feel if I was to go back to stock as long as its legal to do within the rules.
