Street Beat Options - Vote!

First topic message reminder :

We have two options for the music in Street Beat.

1. Only use the current USACI SPL CD - Music tracks only

2. Only music available through national retailers. The music must contain a discernable bass beat or rhythm (not a tone). The music must contain non-computer generated vocals. (Must be a SONG)


We will conclude the poll at Kickoff on Sunday. Majority wins it.

Well I guess we can say already which vote won

For 2008 we will define and police music. In the next few weeks we will produce a street beat cd. It will be optional for 2008 and required in 2009. If we do it right the disk will most likely be adopted much sooner by the membership.

I'd like to send a thanks back at ya, for taking the time to consider if street beat was going in the right direction with the previous music structure.

I personally feel you made the right decision here.

Maybe if you put like the yrs most popular songs on that disc or something, That would be cool, something the kids have acutally heard before.

So,loud as hell is out,so loud it hertz is out,what about dj magic mike.

I would bet Mike wont be allowd either

Not leaving lots of options that im familiar with.

Music. thats part of the fun, Find a national recording artist, not bass tracks and have fun, I have countless hrs on the computer already listening and looking at different music.

I'd rather just burp for 30secs.

2Live did have alot of beat in there songs, hell I know a beastie boys song that may be good. LOL

What music has been defined/policed to be not allowed for SB this year??? Need to know ASAP.

probally any songs that have test tones played for long periods of time ..

some kind of list would be nice,you know it would probably be a shorter list of the ones allowed.

Theres alot of the ol school stuff some people probably hasnt heard in yeeeaaars that would do pretty good for sb,just gotta dig them up and do some listening.And what's lame about a banned or allowed list? hell at least we'd be INFORMED, as you more educated folks would say,and know more about what to look at for selections to use.

Only music commercially available through nationally know retailers (Excluding Internet Outlets) may be used for judging. The music must contain non-computer generated vocals and a discernable bass beat or rhythm. (Must be a song). Music with intentionally extended bass tones may be banned and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Burned cd’s or music recorded to an mp3 or other electronic player will not be allowed. Competitors who must use an mp3 type player will only be allowed to use a player provided but the USACI judge and must play a selection provided by same. USACI directors will have available the USACI SPL CD in both CD and Mp3 player formats. As of this printing Majic Mike, Loud As Hell, and the So Loud it Hertz CD’s may not be used. Other Cd’s that may not be used can be found on the USACI web site at www.usaci.org.

Are all Magic Mike CD's axed, or just the 3 minute bass drop song? The reason I ask, is because almost every single Magic Mike song meets all of the qualifications you mentioned above. I would personally hate to see the recording artist banned altogether because of one song he made decades ago that circumvents the intentions of the rules.
