PostSubject: so whats the deal with CRXs in stock class??   so whats the deal with CRXs in stock class?? Icon_minitimeThu Jun 07, 2012 2:37 pm

I heard about this earlier this year where ralph bumped a crx from stock because of no rear panels?
rear panels have been out of all crxs..s10..suvs etc in stock for ever.
IS THIS REALLY A NEW RULE??

when did this rule happen?

how in the world do crx have to have panels.. but we can still gut the back of mini trucks AND have eqpt in the bed in STOCK? thats 1000% retarded. the back of 90% of trucks starts as a PASSENGER area.. but we can gut that lol. but not the CARGO area of a crx...

has anyone else been told this at a show? Is it added to the rule book..wait we dont get those anymore.. are ALL the stock records reset since we apparently changed the rules or are we chasing scores set with apprent out dated rules??

There is a rule on that. "No modifications may be made to the interior of the vehicle. Exception... Trucks."

Wtf?

Also, Ralph moved me from stock to super stock because I didn't have panels.

yeah considered current rules you can fit the same eqpt as a mod class astro lol. Anyway I'm not really worried about how stupid it is that mini trucks can unbolted the rear seats and use half the bed for eqpt. More so asking wtf is with the crx rule that either does or doesn't exist ..

How many people have actually read the rules? Have the Judges read them? Do they understand them? Case in point...Padre one competitor was told that he had to have his rear panels in the car in order to run stock 0-600. If anyone actually read the rules it states:

STOCK Division: Competitors may not compete in the stock division if they meet any of the
requirements for a “PRO” competitor as defined previously in these rules.
Alternator, capacitance, battery, voltage, and amplifier limits are defined in “Appendix A” (located at the
end of this book).
Pickups may have equipment (batteries, amps, crossovers, etc.) located in the bed. This equipment may
not protrude above the factory bed rail or more than 36 inches from the front wall of the factory bed. (Not
the bed lip).
No Speakers or enclosures are allowed outside the cab. Bed cuts are not allowed. Factory
panels may be removed in the cargo area to facilitate system installation.
Podiums will be allowed.
Modifications: No modifications will be allowed to the interior of the passenger compartment or exterior
of the vehicle in order to facilitate the audio system. The floor, ceiling and dashboard must be OEM or
equivalent to include all fabrics, coverings and carpets. Speakers larger than 8" and any speaker being
used for SPL must be located only in the designated “cargo” areas behind the “B” pillar. In passenger
cars this would be either in the trunk or hatchback area.
Enclosures in the cargo area of all vehicles
competing in the Stock division must be installed behind the rear most passenger seats. Neither the
enclosure, nor any device(s) affixed to the enclosure may protrude above the top of the rear seat back
or block the view out of the rear glass. Neither the enclosure nor any devices affixed to the enclosure
may protrude above the bottom of the side or rear glass panels. No modifications will be allowed to the
exterior of the vehicle and all portions of the system must remain inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle is
defined as inside of the factory bodylines, roof, and floorboard. Equipment in or on trailers, hitch racks,
luggage racks and so on will not be permitted. No portion of the enclosure or audio system will be
permitted to be located outside of the vehicle to include the bed of a pickup.

Trucks, vans, SUV’s and cargo vehicles competing in the Stock division will be qualified thus:
In full size trucks originally equipped with forward facing rear seats, the cargo area will be defined as
being under or behind the rear seat only. In less than full size trucks or trucks with side facing rear seats,
the area behind the “B” pillars will be considered cargo area. In both or either of these cases, the
enclosure or speaker will not be allowed to protrude forward of the “B” pillars nor may the enclosure or
any devices affixed to it protrude above the bottom of the rear or side glass panels. This will also apply
to any vehicle that is originally manufactured with no rear passenger seats.
In vans and SUV’s with OEM
rear seats, the cargo area will be defined as the area behind the rear most seats. Vans and SUV’s that
are originally manufactured without rear seats cannot compete in the Stock division.
On vehicles with removable or convertible walls or panels, all equipment and all parts of the enclosure
must remain inside the passenger area and may not protrude into or be located in an open air “bed” or
other storage area not covered by the same roof that covers the passenger area. Jump seats in the
cargo area, behind the “B” pillar, and below the lowest window may be removed.
Exception: In the case of a single cab pickup truck the box, speakers, and amplifiers may extend forward
of the “b” post but must not extend further forward than the rear of the truck seat back. Seat back must
be locked in place and the seat mounting may not be moved to facilitate system installation.
The head judge at the event will interpret this rule.

Well if it is a rule, then where in those rules I posted is it? It states in those rules that panels maybe pulled in the cargo area. It also states that equipment may not reside in the bed of a pickup truck. Also if you noticed it does not say you have to have the panels above the window line like it says you do in super stock. So by what is stated above crx's in stock can remove all panels in the cargo area. Which stated above is the area behind the rear most seats, hence the crx being a 2 seater every panel behind them can be removed. As for the question that Db daddy posted it states that the seats that can be removed are side facing seats. I have not seen a full size truck with side facing seats. It also states that equipment can be put in the bed, but then states it may not be put in the bed. Contradiction much?

No not blind! Look at the 4th highlighted section where it also states that no portion of the audio system may reside in the bed.

http://www.soundoff.org/rules/2011splrules.pdf

Here is the link for anyone that wants to actually read the rules as they are today. 6/7/12
I also recommend downloading a copy so you can double check and see if/when they get updated. I kept hearing there were no rule changes this year, however there sure seems to be more drama now than there has been. With the new rules being implemened on the fly.

If you ask anyone that knows me personally, I will try and find any possible loophole in any rule. That is why one of my nicknames is mr.grey area. And with the way the rules are currently written there are so many holes you could drive a tractor trailer through them.

Not that Fred got beat. But because Larry cheated to win. I don't mind losing to someone that just outright put more work in the setup, but to outright cheat to do it and to screw several people over in the process.

I am taking a page from your playbook Jeff. Speak the truth and fornicate em if they don't like it. This is a business and should be run like one. There should be no bias between the judges and the competitors period. The judges are hired to do a job not play favorites with competitors.
