| hes naming it charles! and i think smaller classes, not less of them would make more sense but it really doesnt matter, certain companies are still going to underrate their amps and be more dominant. theres no stopping that without clamping like discussed years ago. yes there is an organization that does that but that organization took ideas from every other organization out there and combined them so i dont think theyd get to upset if usaci adopoted this way of regulating their classesto keep costs and scores under control so newbies have a small chance of catching the bug. just my .02 | |

| I know I'm late to this discussion, but I'm bored so I'll throw my worthles opinion out there... And this is coming from someone who is still relatively new so I have a pretty decent perspective on what it would take to bring (or even keep) new blood into USACi. It ALL comes down to dollars. All of it. You want new people? Make it fornicating cheaper. Period. Hey, kid... you want to compete in USACi? Save up about 10 years worth of your McDonald's paychecks and drop $10k into an "entry level" class vehicle and maybe you can snag a 3rd. Sound good? Oh, and by the way... you can't use your daily driver. You have to go buy a CRX or an S10. Of course, we are all talking about being competitive on a wolrd finals level. And isn't that the point? Or the goal at least? Make it fun again. HAVING to buy a D5 (or god forbid a 4.1) and HAVING to buy a specific vehicle for a certain class isn't fun. Expensive isn't fun. Building, testing, hunting tenths... that's fun. Seeing how much you can get out of a little... that's fun. Building for $20 Pyle subs... that's fun I see my CRX in the garage every day. D5? No problem. Batts? Got em. But I start doing the math for the rest of the crap I need and it just isn't worth it. It's not fun anymore. And it has absolutely nothing to do with Chad or Darren's numbers. Contrary to what Alan says... I build for 2nd. Or 3rd. Or... IDGAF. I do it because it's fun and I enjoy it. I don't care how you do it. Make it fun again. Most likely candidate is smaller classes. Not bigger, you retard. And if you're going to change up the mod classes, make it 0-6, 601-1800 and 1800 and up. That way if a stock or super stock car doesn't make it though verification, he can just roll on into his respective mod class. That'll also open up a couple new amps for the mod guys too. | |

| i dissagree with this many kids now a days would rather spend money on drinking or ex or some other form of drug to shove in there bodies. if they would stop that Dung Pile, get clean, and out that money towards there vehicle instead of trying to be kool like there homies then they wouldnt have an issue. it all comes down to what you want to do or be, and well its never been hard for me at all to figure this out. | |

| I agree with you there, bro. When I go to a nice dinner or a night out on the town, I think to myself, "Damn! I just dropped a gallon of DB Blue on my bar tab!" Lmao.
Unfortunately, kids will STILL spend that money on that crap. BUT if they can get their foot in the door into something more productive (USACi), they might just think that they'd rather buy that sub or wire or batt instead of that booze or drug. You feel me? But right now they see the price of a D5 and think, "Meh, I'll never afford that and I have to have it, so whatevs... I'll just get high."

| I hear you. And I jumped right off the deep end too. That's what hangin around with Alan Hall will get you. Lol. But I'm like that with everything. Golf? Scratch player or nothing. Honda? 10's or bust. Watches? IWC or Omega, please. RC? Well... I never got into RC, but you see where I'm going. It was operation "bust L&C's ass" my first year in the game. I didn't even come close. Lol. But that's how I roll. I set the bar high for myself, have a little fun along the way and see what happens.
But I'm not like most people. I'll go to finals anyway. The kids bangin in the local's class see the state or world records and find out what numbers the top dogs are doing and just settle for where they are right now because they can do the math too. The writing is on the wall. There are the loud guys and everybody else. And whom do you think are the ones going to finals?
Scrapin last year was awesome. There must have been 20+ entries into Stock 0-600. Most I'd ever seen. And they were all really close too. Before I ran (last), there wasn't more than maybe 1.5db between 1st and 10th. I started to sandbag so as not to discourage anyone, but I don't play that BS and I needed the points. I could have won with my single 8' setup. That's the deparity between the average Joe and "us." And I''m not even loud!

like i said there is a class for pure newbs Lol. Where.... in anything I said, did you gather that I wanted to penalize anyone? And stop crying for the ultra elite anyway. You think chaging ANY rule in ANY class in ANY fashion is going to keep the talented, hard working, dedicated, loud guys from winning? No.

My bad. I thought we were talking about how to get new people into the game. And I wasn't saying make it "easier" for them. Just cheaper.

| I havn't read this entire post, and dont' have the time, so if I offend, it was not intended, just figured I put in my opinion.
Most guys that I run across that are 19, 20, ect, don't want my advise, they already know how to get loud and don't want any adivse from an old guy.(I was the same way years ago). Then, after dumping huge $$ in thier ride, they find out they did it all wrong(like I did).
Experience and dollars is what I have seen win. I can do more with 5K now then I could have with 10K 2 years ago. I personally have went from a modified car hitting 146 to a superstock hitting 152, and have less dollars in it, but a ton more work into it.
My point would be to make small adjustments if needed, but don't revamp. If guys want to compete and win, they will, regardless of how bad they get beat in the beginning.

| I have been dragging around a few guys with me as well to shows and getting them fired up about competing, i keep telling them for now just compete in ms and don't go to lousiana, haha, but anyways, sanman you mentioned the local classes - i see this, have inquired about it, etc. I have only competed in about 10 shows, but i have never seen a judge offer these classes nor mention them. So are they by request only?
Taylor - yea i was one of the 0-600's at scrapin, it was all tied up in the 140s-146 range all day saturday. My setup then wasn't doing too hot, i got beat by 3rd place by 1 db, but since then i have improved my score above what 2nd place got that day. It's a lot of fun to set the goals and WAY more fun now that i have a meter to test with. Having that many people in one class was a lot of fun, because i was waiting in line and some guy 2 cars ahead of my ran his 0-600 hatch setup with i think 2 pioneer 15's or something - this was early saturday, he scored like a 139.xx and jumped out and was high fiving his "boys" saying, we got this Dung Pile! Then I plus the 6 guys in line with me pulled right up behind him and beat his score.
