can i run these amps this year or did this amp come out to late?

well, I think it will be in unlimited power class. We surely don't want to discourage new comers, but new comers usually also don't have the history of competing some veterans have. The old saying "you gotta pay your dues" somewhat applies.
From what I know, most fo these guys are always willing to talk to others and give helpful ideas. That helps the new comers alot, and will motivate them next year. But if this amp falls under unlimited power class, not Stock class, those guys are not new comers, and expect the worse when it comes time for battle at finals.

sorry, just the post and topic at hand, I read it that way myself, if he meant another amp

I know they are always willing to help new people. I have gotten allot of help from some of them. I'm not 'New" I have been competing on and off for several years. This is just the first year I will attend finals. If the amp will be in unlimited power class more power to them(In more ways then one lol). PS: Kicker FTW.

I might be wrong. I though he was talking about another amps that had be available for a while now but only the "team' Guys knew about it. Maybe he was talking about the kicker.

You have a new comer that has worked all year to get there points they show up to finals to see a new amp that came out 3 weeks before finals that they could not get there hands on and get there Gluteus Maximus spanked. How many of those people you think will be back next year? In there minds it would be like f it because no matter what I do a week before finals a amp is going to come out that I can touch and I'm going to get my Gluteus Maximus spanked. Then a year later that amp will get protested and be rerated but not like it matters there will be another one out a week before finals.

I personal don't care. I could not afford the amp even if it was out. I have said my peace on this matter.

here what I say ...IF YOU DONT LIKE THis BIGG AMP buy one then have it tested!

I will agree with Polecat on all he has mentioned. Team Members that are with Manufacturers get first dibs ... Especially to test the amps and see what they are and are not capable of... I can say this none of us want to scare the new guys off but i can say i can remember in 96 i placed 19th out of 30 in my class and knew that i had to step it up or it would be like that every year... Well about 7 years later i was finally in a great sponcership deal.... Yes i worked my arse off to get to where i get what i get.. DB Drive is a great company and a great bunch of guys PERIOD... But they reley on a few select members to Brutally test there product speakers, amps, coaxs , all kinds of stuff.. Someone has to let them know what they can do...


Now i think a few said pay your dues... Well pay them work your butt off and maybe one day you can be one of select few that get to do this.. Its fun but it takes way to much time away from Family and friends... Shop all day then test all night then shows on the weekend.... Hey but i live for it.. .And have for YEARS NOW......... And i do not see any problem with Select Members getting to play with the new toys before the public... HELL YEAH... Dont hate. Alll who have this prevlige worked there butts off for it. And deserve it..

What good would buying an amp and having it tested do?

If the amp is released after August you can still use it but only in unlimited power classes.
