| I have a friend who currently has some JL 10s below the seat of his GMC xtended cab. If he buys some solo 10s, can he just cut that round hole out to accomodate the solo, or will he need a new box?? | |

| The kicker 10's are prolly a good bit bigger.. I'd say a whole new box.. Then again I've never seen solo barics under the seat of anything, but then again I do live in a small town | |

| lol...so...in this case, a square peg will fit in a round hole?
after a lil modifications??
I, too, say a new box..but that's me. I was trying to sell him on some CVRs...but he wants the squares. Go figure. | |

| Everyonne wants squares.. But go ahead and cut his squares out for him.. Make him happy.. But I bet he would be suprised just by changing the JL's to the CVR's... | |

| I completely agree. But these young guys are so naive. He's heard my system, with a couple of L7 15s, and thinks that if he just switches to some L5 10s that he will be beating as hard as me because (in his words) "I have a lot less airspace than you, so my 10s should sound like your 15s." Whatever dude. | |

| Yea bc that's how it works.. In a CRX yes.. Under the seat of a pick up.. HELL NO.. Plus he has to seal his box.. No room for ports in that little amount of space.. I'd push selling to CVRs and tell him he's saving time and money.. And should be a very big difference | |

| Loud and CLear has done many L7s under seats. in a down fired config....Just check mounting depth, and if the woofer can be about 1.5-2in off floor, will sound like a lot more than 2 10s |

| He went with the CVRs...selling point was when he saw price difference. Only 40 or so (each), but it was the deciding point...well, that, and the fact that he didn't have to mess with cutting on the box. He's wanting to mount them downfire (like his current JLs are) and the box is sealed. I also talked him into a new amp--he had a generic one. He went with the Kicker ZX550.2 I told him he should see--well hear--a very noticealbe difference. | |
