That aside, all amps pictured are beastly. Plenty of headroom on the power supply, rails, switching, and output recreation. Overbuilt = More stable at rated = Safer beyond rated.

all Im saying is if the amps were allowed to be used in the past, and nothing internal has changed, then let the amp continue to be used. Now if it changed like the DDM3a, then let DD pay to have it tested, and if it is allowed in the class, then so be it. I believe the DD M3 and Cactus Pf600 is kinda the same, and both should be continually to be used in this class.

Who exactly called anyone a cheater for using the amp? Only time I saw something mentioned about cheating was by you. The issue at hand is there are 3 different PUBLISHED ratings for "1" amp. Yes years ago when the amp was published to do 600w @ 4 ohm it was sent in to be tested and passed. Since then two new ratings have been published for the "same" amp. The most recent being the 800w rating posted by CS. I brought the question up so that my teammate didn't waste money testing an amp that could possible get removed from the 0-600w class. I don't believe any previous records/wins should be revoked for something that was not made illegal at the time. If USACI does decide to remove the amp due to the "new" rating then that will suck for the people wanting to run them this year. I'd be pissed too if I were you.

Like jeff has stated there used to be information about this in writing but it no longer exists which causes more confusion. All we can do now is see what USACI decides to do. We can argue all day what we believe should happen but at the end of the day USACI are the ones who make the final decision.

I agree with this. To make it right and official the black one needs to be sent in for testing.

Clamped power classes would be cool. Something that reflects current classes but gets rid of the 4 ohm rating thing.

Here's what i think why he changed the ratings. Even though they are the same amp I think he wanted to try to be able to sell to a wider market giving it a higher rating than the previous years even though it is the same exact amp internally. I don't think he realized it would open a can of worms like this, but it does and it makes complete sense.

Paint them both a third color and fornicate the whole thing up!
