there is nothing different about the amp. i have a old and new 1 strapped if it was changed then that wouldnt work! nothing has changed with the pf600.1 it is the same as it was when it waas rated therefore the new 1 is just as legal as the old 1 the sheet that f3ma posted is wrong its a misprint or somebody made it its not a actual manual. and why are you still arguing this when your friend is trying to buy 1 to run in the class? no matter how much you \"Female dog\" things aint gonna change its been certified so its good to go. and like has been said in this post its not just this amp the rating system is messed up but thats just how it goes weve dealt with it now you get to too!!! quit worrying about a amp thats certified and build your Dung Pile and get in the lanes!!! unless you got a 160 up your sleeve you aint gonna win the class anyways!!!!

here i forgot all about this f3ma ill post it but i have a email from christoph stating that the only thing that has changed is the color how else can i strap them? and it will be a wait for that email back they have been super busy and dont get on much.

around here that's very possible lol. The mark antony 25 opcm was rerated but never even tested lol. Because, a Reliable source says it was 350w

so can anybody say that my amps would work strapped if they werent the same?

Pound stone, just a heads up, if there is no new version, and they are in fact the same, then the "old" one had its rating changed to a higher number too, and its just as illegal.

also the new amp will need to be sent in to verifiy it is no differant from the old then it will be honored at 600@4 untill then you might as well chalk it up to 800@4

when usaci did the certification of those amps that were sent in they also did documentation of the bords within the amps thats how they can verify if its differant or not

Now see. All that drama. And like I said. The confusion is cause a "new" amp was released. Even if its only a color change. Cs messed up and put that dumb rating on it and confused everyone. Hope the oem numbers match up for the guys who have these amps. I could care less the rating..im argueing cause what else is there to do around here. And plus jeff is involved so its double the fun.

the funniest part to me is this isnt even the amp to have anymore.. dont get me wrong its a good amp.. there are just better choices these days

once again your an idiot an amp can not be rated at what it wants to be rated at there is a process it is used and they do what they are told they can do by the rating rules of this orginization

Poundstone, I hate to tell you this but that is not a manual from the original pf 600.1's. the reason i instantly knew is is because the pf amps were out way before the k series, maybe a year or even more like 1.5 years

Christoph may have told you nothing has changed on the black ones and that may or may not be true, from my experience he will tell you what you want to hear to get the sale. I don't trust the man so take it for what it is worth. I have not said this on public forum so take this for what it's worth. I was one of the first to buy the pf 600's after l&c and sanman (i think) did so well with them the year before. I questioned christoph on if they would take 18 volts or not and he said the would, so i ordered 3 of the which was big bucks back then. When I got them I was looking over the manual and it said the pf 600 was only good up to 16v, so I again questioned him on this and he assured me 18v no problem and no mods had to be done. So I went ahead and put them in the crx, they wouldnt see 18v till later in the season when the s-10 would get built. Well I did not put them in until the night before the nw audio show so i did not get anymeter time, it sounded loud but what my ear says and the meter say are 2 differant things. After going up to the lanes and even rerunning and only doing like a 55 i got to looking around, all amps had green lights, but eventually i determined one was not working.

The next day which was a monday and only about 4 days after i got the amps, i contacted christoph to let him know one the amps was bad out of the box. he pawned me off on jame because james was his "us" guy, even though i ordered straight from christoph and the were shipped to me straight from the factory in korea. James told me to send it to arc because that was there place for cactus stuff to be fixed in the us, So i asked well what do i tell them, do i say cactus is paying for them or do you gus have an account with them etc etc, he told me i would have to pay for it. So a bad amp right out the box, and I have to pay for it? so I contact christoph again and he says well it's a competition anp and the do not warranty comp stuff, I said this is a little differant, this one was bad right out of the box. I was only running it 12 and not even that low of a load, .5 rising to 1.4. He said sorry, no warranty on comp stuff.

So right there he would not stand behind his product.

Then next up the 18v problems, he said the would work just fine and when i did get around to trying it alls they do is protect at turn on, they work just fine on 12v but every time protect on 18v turn on. I talked to sanman about this and he said he had his modded for 18v, and even then he was still blowing them every time he tried, he figured out modded he could do 17.2, but still only for a couple burps. I still have that broke 600, i did send it in to arc and they supposesily fixed it but it still didn't work when it came back. So I have over $1000 in one pf 600 that has never worked.

On top of that I got a bill from the company christoph used to ship the amps to me about 3 weeks after I got them for me to pay for that.

So in review I don't trust him and he is going to tell you what you want to hear to sell you the product then he will not stand behind it. I think he had a thing going on time that if you broke a wr with a cactus product he would pay for your membership the next year, im pretty sure that never ended up happening either but maybe that individual will respond and tell us if he has or not.

but anyway to what i was originally talking about on manuals, the first ones actually said 600w

And another thing on all this supject, I know what the rules say and won't go into all that because it is worthless, what the rules say in black and white and the decision made by th guy in charge do not always line up

when you have a question like this it is best to email him, a call works as well, but i prefer email, because then when he tells you what you can and can't do, then you have it in writing so he can't go back on his word.

For daddyj you can suck a fatty though, I have only ever used ceritified amps to win any comps, and heck i didn't even use the m3's till 3 years after they came out. While I will agree and can back up what sanman said about the m3, at the end of the day it is what i said above, you have to go by what the guy incharge says, it is true when the m3's came out the manual and website said 770 but then that was change shortly after.

so to say someone is a cheater because the used certified amps, well you can f off, its jusy called a wise choice on what to spend you money on because you know its good to go and wont have to worry about it being worhtless down the road, he the last 2 years i have won with them, like others have said, its what, number 3 on the list for 12v amps to have, in fact the guy i beat last year at finals was usuing #2 on the list and when that didnt get it done borrowed #1 on the list and still didn't get it done, it all comes down to build, i won't even bring into the equation how much louder his hw's should have been compared to my old ass mmats juggs

no its not the original its the new 1 i was just posting it cuz he kept saying 800w at 4 ohms when it says 770 now if for some reason which dont make sense it needs retested whatever it doesnt affect me either way im running 2 in stock 601-1800 so either rating im still in but im with everybody else i just want clarification. if im wrong im wrong but from everything i was told it should still be legal. as for cactus cs i feel ya chad it took me like 3 months just to find out if i could strap them since they did look different and i found out on my own just doing it he got back to me about a month after. and as for amp being rated at whatever it wants if a manufacturer is willing to send its amp in to get certified as a lower class amp then yes you can get whatever amp will qualify in that class even if its rated higher he said if a amp is tested it goes off that rating even if its manual says higher but if a new version comes out it has to be tested too to get the same rating otherwise it goes off the manual? thats how i read the rules and how they have been inforced but the rules change around here so fast you will never be up to date and never know exactly what it is cuz half of its not in the rule book!!

so basically i now have a amp rated at 600w@4ohms and 1 rated at 770w@4ohms even though they are the same.lol

also if the new 1 is outlawed then is the old 1? i mean how do you enforce that? what if i paint my amps to match my interior you would never know they are different so according to this logic my old 1 would be illegal too even though it was certified. i just dont see that happening ther is no way to tell the difference other then the color. the only way somebody would ever know is if somebody protested your setup and put the $ up then the only way is to take the paint off. i just dont see how you do that its 1 thing when its a whole new model like the m3a but its not different.

they rated it at what it does. thats what it was bench tested by usaci at so why not rate it at that? it was legal when usaci gave it that rating. as for why they do it idk you have to talk to christoph if you can get ahold of him.

chad is absolutely correct the fact that i havent had a pf600 in like 3 years now i couldnt show a manula for it

the m3/pf600.1 is the same amp one is modded for higher voltages thats it

the pf600.1 will peter out on you at 17.2 unless you have it sent into ARC and they do the mod to it to be able to handle 17.7v then your tapped the fornicate out.

awsome amps, but ill tell you ide take the d5 over it any day for reliability thats for sure.

the treo is a great amp also but who wants to pay john henry 1200 for that amp i could have 2 pf600's or 2 d5's for the price of his 1 amp
