The firms performing this after-factory work raise the roofs and literally drop the floor of the minivans about six inches, enabling them to use short wheelchair ramps, rather than wheelchair lifts. If it drops the floor down 6inches wouldnt that be considered a floor cut and be moved to Supermod? Im not to familiar with the mod rules but I remember seeing something about floor cuts a while back putting you in super mod.

| i didnt read through this whole thread yet, but if its a handicapped van then there are 2 questions
1, is the wheel chair lift still in it? if not then that would be a mod ahead of the b pilliar
2 is it one of the handicapped van that is made into a handicapped van such as regency or whereever, if so, then it did not come from the factory with no passenger seats, it would have been made that way after the factory, but before it was sold as new |

| Here is the response I got from the office today
Well I talked to darville today, and basically he said he didnt make the desicsion, Ralph said it was Ok to run it. I didnt get to talk to him to see as to why. (I would like to know from a judging perspective, cause I still see it as illigal due to the rules)
Here is my hard thoughts as a judge
Basically, If ralph said the van is legal, then it is legal. For anyone wishing to dispute it, there is a form on the USACi page to appeal to rules and ethics.
If Ralph said it was leagal to run more then one world record in one day at the same event, then it is legal. Anyone wishing to dispute this may appeal to rules and ethics using the same form listed above
I am in no way tring to step on anyones toes, I was having questions brought forward to me, and I thought I would answer them to my best ability.

| damn dont get on here 1 day and i'm a cheating piece of poop!this van isnt going to run anyone off from usaci. a crx or s10 will stomp this thing outlaw.its great legal as are most caravans with or without a wall. try building 1 and you'll see. as far as the floor drop, not that kinda van. this one had a lift style in the back that is very easy to see where it was and thats why it has a 3/4 ton suspension in the back. it was made to lift the wheelchair up and in and then the chair rolled forward and locked into the drivers area. remember, this van is not a newer style but from back in the 80s. the funny thing is that s10s and crxs came with back seats yet they are allowed to use this area and even REMOVE theirs so whys everyone crying about this 1 which is a passenger van that DIDNT EVEN COME WITH SEATS. give me a REASONABLE exlanation for all the crying other than just being a hater. | |

| but as stated in the rules " if they were manufactured with, but didnt come with them, then they arent allowed in stock. these cars came with backseat in this country, they were just an option that most didnt want.who wants a 12" seat to sit on,lol. i'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you bruce i think this is all funny. i'll go with whatever ralph says, but i did what i was told to be legal. i put fron seats in it and had all panels above the window line and in front of the b pillar was stock. healiner all the way to the back with the upper and lower center consoles still in place. | |

| From my knoledge the only CRX that even was availible with the back seat is the 1990 or 1991 Crx SiR which is a right hand drive made in japan and a few of them are in canada.
About the same issue as the panda, everyone is so worried about those cars, they forget most of them actually came with back seats.
Charles, I have already posted my 2 cents on this, im not tryin to get into it with anyone. I just stated the way the rules are written and the way I would run it at one of my shows.
But the fact of the matter is, If the big man tway there (ralph) he is in charge and has the finals say, so no matter if we like it or not, its done, and its was deemed legal.

Because the rules specifically state that vans that didn't come with passenger seats can't be used in stock class. Again, as others have said, if Ralph said it's legal, it's legal. I don't care one way or another, I just found it weird that there is a specific rule on a van without seats, yet you were allowed to run.

| I must agree its pretty plainly stated in the rules about vans with no back seats. However, this is Ralph's organization and what he says goes whether the general conscensus agrees or not.
Charles, I dont think anyone here has any qualms with you. Congrats on the record. We just would like to know if its legal or not since as someone already quoted, those types of vehicles are not allowed in stock class and pro stock uses stock rules with the following exceptions. I know the answer was no a few years ago, perhaps Ralph could justify his ruling now vs then and tell us what changed?

IMO a caravan is a caravan regardless of how it was modded for a handicapped person. You cannot look me straight in the face and tell me you think running that van is following the intent of what that class is there for, for that matter it doesnt even have to be intent, its in the rules plain cut and dry. Who is to stop someone from getting a dodge sprinter for the handicapped and making it a prostoc vehicle, imagine the window line on that one. Basically I think you took a top fuel dragster to a gokart race and the only reason it got by is cause the guy selling tickets knew it was money to be had or money to be lost. As for the who is sexier, "Female dog" dont make me start a poll.
