Finals!

First topic message reminder :

6 days until they have the meeting to finalize the date and location. I hope we get some good news. (the old thread was locked)

It is a great spot...it is centralized from north to south. There is casino's, entertainment within walking distance and strip bars for you guys. The facility is extremely nice and so is the hotel.

I'm going as usual no matter what but just to be me......do you even have a map of the United States? How is LA anywhere close to being "centralized" north to south? LA is one of the furthest southern states. Even if it is on the north end of the state, it's still way down south.


I do like the october date better than november. When finals is in November many people need to chose between SEMA, hunting, and the coming holidays. Mid october keeps those expenses a little further away. Just my 2 cents.

It will be great to have things locked down earlier this year. I think that in itself will boost attendence as everyone will have some time to plan further ahead and especially if it is locked down "for real" for at least another year or longer.

I think the deal is that whomever drives the least buys the most beers for the ones that drove the futherest.

I just need the hotel info so I can book 4 rooms for the club so please hurry

Shreveport is an excellent venue. I have been to multiple meetings at convention center. Good food, plenty of things to do. I might fly out to check out finals. I have not yet decided on spending money to replace batteries to compete.

You mean like Kansas City for 13 years?!?

It's not like we want to move every year now is it. We have had no choice in Omaha, Tulsa, and Dallas.

In Shreveport we have everything we had in KC. A facility that is willing to work out long term dates, a retailer who wants to come on board for the long run, and some industry insiders who are willing to get behind it. The city is supportive and we expect a TON of local support. This should be a home for at least three years (thats the contract we are in for) amd longer.

Sure it is a little south, but it is in the middle (east - west) of the USA and far enough south that we do not have to worry about weather. Godd competitor turnout, good spectator turnout, and good industry support.

Did I mention SERIOUS night life just two blocck from the hall and host hotel? Vegas Style Casino's within a block or two (walking distance), and the Hustler Club on the same block!

Could not ask for more stuff to do within 1/2 mile of ground zero! Host Hotel is not attached to the convention center by a bridge, it is INSIDE the convention center! Walk from your room to the hall and never leave the building.

Well doing my brilliant dectective worrk (googleing the shreveport convention center) I see the host hotel will be the Hilton Shreveport and just guessing a date of October 15 - 17 it shows the rate of 159/night (the weekend before it shows sold out). I hope you can get us a homie hookup price, Ralph. By the way your promotion for Tulsa also said "Vegas Style casinos" so how do I believe you this time? Vegas baby!!!

The casinos out there are pretty nice man. I did some contract work out there and hit up a few of them and enjoyed myself. The horseshoe is where its at though!

I spent some time in Shreveport before making my report. Nice casino's and KILLER night life.

if it is the dates I am thinking, oh boy I will have many miles myself.....gotta drive all the way from South Padre bikefest the weekend before, load up and make the trip for finals
