| 1/4" X 1"- 1 1/2" Wide should be ok depending on how many batteries and amplifier amperage your working with . you can also go battery to battery with 4ga to 0ga wire and regular battery terminals . again all depending on the system power . | |

| Copper 1/4" thick by 1-1/2" wide, rated for 400 amp. Cost $14.70 a foot, and I got about 20 feet in my s10, it's a pretty sweet setup, but cost almost $300 dollars. | |

| thickness of the metal I am not thinking is an issue it still has many free flowing electrons wich most of us electical guys know is what it takes to move electricity athrough or across metal. | |

| Smoker, if that's true the thicker the bar the more resistance than we should all be using hair-thin copper strands instead of zero guage power cable. | |

| TRUE BUT 0-GAUGE IS MADE UP OF ALOT OF STRANDS OF WIRE AND NOT A SOLID PIECE OF COPPER !!! MOST GOOD 0-GUAGE IS THICK BUT HAS A HIGH STRAND COUNT FOR THE ELECTRONS TO FLOW . | |

| think of the thickness like a fuse . the thicker the better and the less resistance . sanman your buss bars are too too thick and you have too much power | |
