| quick question for you SQ guys.... Wheres a good starting point for setting the crossovers on a 3 way setup? I have an 8" hertz HV200 midbass sealed, CDT 7" ES-07 midrange IB, and Rockford Fosgate 25mm FNX tweeter. Tonight i did the most in depth tuning I've done so far and even thou i'm satisfied with the sound just thinking of the crossover points and all that i know the drivers can do better.
For the 8" midbass do i or should i expect voice from them? Prior to tonight i had them crossed at 65 and somewhere ~ say 200 (dont know for sure since the HP is at the amp) now i have them at 60 and the hp almost as low as it goes and theres no vocals. should i bump them back up?
For the 7" CDTs i have the LP crossed pretty high probably somewhere from 120 to 200hz ... ive always preferred them with a high crossover point. The HP on them is 4k (both the midbasses and midranges are bandpassed on the 360.2 with a 12db xover)
The tweets are what really concerns me. When i was "tuning" with only the tweets on there wasn't anything i could do to make it sound "good". I do agree that the fosgate tweets aren't the best and i can probably do better but i have a feeling i dont have them crossed over at a good point at all. Should i be getting vocals from the tweets? Do i want to blend them with the midranges crossing them below 4k? or should it be above 4k and blend at -3db or whatever (don't know how to explain... like the simple universal crossover graph) And do you guys usually leave them flat? I haven't touched the EQ on anything but the tweeters... i just sloped the freqs down to -4db at 20k
Thanks in advance to everyone that helps... maybe just maybe i can get my setup done and sounding good and see you guys in the lanes next yr | |

| Give us an idea as to where you are mounting these components. Especially the tweets. Thanks | |

| the 8" midsbasses are o.k , i even run them lower sometimes . the biggest problem when tweeters don't sound good is cause they are crossover too low .i would try to bring'em up to 5000 k especially sense your crossover is 12db .but , you also might need to bring your midrange to 5k . | |
