| Got a question, hopin someone has tested this before.
I run 2 amps-instead of splitting the RCA from the head unit, can I just run one rca to each amp?
Will this lower the SPL, or since the subs are run in mono, does it matter.
Seems simple, but I figured I'd better ask, might save me a few $$$'s.
Thanks | |

| Well i guess it would depend, if its a Sub RCA output the signal should be mono, if it is a stereo signal the signal would differ. So you have 2 amps strapped on 1 sub? | |

| Yes and no on the strapped amps. I'm running 2 amps, off the mono output. Have one amp going to sub setup for listening, and one amp for SPL. They are in a place that is tough to get to and switch back and forth.
I was also wondering about it in reference to strapped amps. That is what I'll be going to next year, just getting the groundwork done ahead of time. So as long as I'm running off of the mono output on the deck, it should be fine, just stay away from the stereo outputs?

| Duno if it matters, im runnin couple amps strapped. The sub output on my deck is stereo. i have both right and left connected to the master amp with a data cable between the master and slave. This way crossovers, gains, etc. only have to be adjusted on the master. | |

| Yea, the only way i could ever see this having a negative impact is if you have your amps in "stereo" and you have 2 different signals feeding a sub. I am told that most lower frequencies are mono, but i have some metal songs that use a lot of double kicks and sometimes that is in stereo even though i don't think that is under 80hz, i think that is more in the 80-250hz range. Regardless, just make sure the signals are identical. | |
