need help with wiring ?

Subject: need help with wiring ? Fri Sep 05, 2008 9:12 pm

I have two runs of o gaude wire from the battery + to the back of the car and no - runs from the battery to the back. My question is will this help me any or will i need to run some from the - side of the battery to the back to help. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it is not necessary to run a negative from the battery to the back ...

You SHOULD however upgrade the negative battery terminal, and the wire to the chassis of the vehicle.

But I'm a n00b ... please make sure with other people first.

You don't need neg wire ran to the back. But I would def make sure it is upgraded in the front to frame or what not.

Great advice here I also would upgrage the charge lead from the alt to the front battery. Wink

ok...here it is...run both pos and neg...reason why is because of the ground on the frame or strut or chassis isnt good at all compared to tagging all neg post and all post post....u will see a difference in the voltage drop...and it is a shorter path for the electrons to travel...and remember electrons travel from neg. to pos...not pos to neg..

you are maybe the 1st person ive ever seen actually post that.. lol no one ever believes me.. asfor the subject.. i used to have 4 + and 4 - ran in my explorer..it forsure helps..the only other thing close is a few nice fat grounds bolted to a CLEANED frame. on a car with a full frame...
