us amps vlx-400 usaci rating

ok just wondering if it was ever challenged or what class it would be? im gonna be getting 1 mainly just cuz i love them they are some of the baddest amps ever and i cant pass it up for the price but thinkin bout actually putting it to use just for a fun build so seein where it would be classed. thanks!!

Yeah I've always wanted 1just to hav I think that's a diff amp Chris I know this is rated at 200x2at4 ohms but didn't know if it was ever tested or challenged figured I'd use It in stock 0-600 for fun!!!lol a 4 ft 600w amp!!!lol

aldo was running 4 of them at the beginning of the 09 season.

im just gonna run it for fun. im just tryin to figure out what class it is? i figured 0-600 but dont know if it was ever challenged..

so does anybody actually know if i can use this for stock 0-600? also will it accept a 8v input? im picking up a old eclipse dead head and wondering if i can use it?

If it's not on here, it's being used according to manufacturer specs... that's my understanding of the thread. Maybe minus the Addictive Audio amp, but hasn't been officially protested on power... just quantity. Anybody else have protested amps to add?

thats what i though but figured id ask. you know if it wil handle my 8v rca input? im gonna try it either way but hopin it will wanna go old school with this build.

These amps are cool as hell. Supposedly you can bridge them and still run them at extremely low ohm loads. They are suppose to double in power every time you split all the way down to a 1/4 ohm. But they are a class AB amp and will draw alot of power. I'd love to have one for my collection though.

yeah i couldnt pass it up!! especially for $500 in mint condition! i could double my money selling it but ill keep it and use it for fun and hang it on the wall later!lol do you know if it will handle the 8v input? i figured it could gonna try either way though!

lol yeah my girl is 5ft on a good day she says!!lol i just measured it and its 44" from end cap to endcap then 45.5 from the end of the feet! then ya need like 2 in to move the wires and the same on the other side for the controls!lol i see it mounted at a 45 on the back of a wall!lol

Is the girlfriend also rated at 200x2? LOL. Mine is, barely stays in 0-600 (even with the 30% rule), when Valentine's flowers appear.

I didn't know the 400 was THAT big. 2 points for old school power! Until it's officially contested, US Amps produced quite a few of them and widely distributed. You shouldn't have any trouble as long as the dB's stay under 160.X (the 2010 Finals score)

If it's reasonably close to 0-600 class power, post up some clamped results. Fusing is supposed to be 400 amps though... so I won't hold my breath.

Side note: The rating is for 0.001% THD and 100 db S/N ratio. Enjoy the SQ responsibly. LOL.

yeah i got 2 old school cerwin vega strokers to run off it!! im really wanting to find a second 1 and run mod 0-1000 in a small hatchback but thats alot more money!lol i dont think ill find 1 this cheap again!! ill get it clamped once i get it hooked up its gonna be a while though i still need a car for really cheap and batteries!! got subs amp headunit which is a eclipse 8051 8v preouts and a eclipse 32440 for the all eclipse highs! should be a nice sq setup that gets down!!!!!lol thanks man!! ive wanted 1 of these since i was 15 years old and seen it for the first time in a magazine!!! i finally own 1 and dont think ill ever sell it!!
