| lmao oh man dude i was thinking about that while putting on the bondo, would it not be easier process if .25 was used instead of .75 would have been easiar to sand i would think but i may try that when i get to the wood shop here in an hour. | |

| yea its looki good on cam but in person its not even all the way around an i can't fgure out why cause its even in some spots i don't know but it worked for me. i am prolly gonna put some more bondo on it to make the flare bigger but that shouldn't take no longer than 2hrs of work an sanding. lol | |

| Nice jig. Chris, I have a 6" flare jig I built about 2yrs ago. I just found it in my dads shed last week. He made me clean out some my old boxes, so I burned them...lol. I'll get some pics up of it this weekend and some pics of the flares it made w/ the hot oil method. They turn out pretty good w/ this jig. Alot more rounded. Edit Here are some of the flares I made w/ my jig. I actually burned that box last weekend. Saved the ports for the hell of it though. | |

| Forget about building rings 1/8" wider than the next...or what ever.
My jig is just 5 rings. The top 2 are the ports actual ID, the last is the ID of the flare. So only 3 'step down' rings where all I needed. All built out of 3/4" MDF. I just used ALOT of body filler.
Chris. I'm telling you man. Abandon the heatgun. I have tried and tried them. The hot oil is the ONLY way to go. Hell I started off w/ that method when my dad was going to get rid of some oil in the ole' turkey frier. I saved it and heated it up to ~250deg to make my 4" and 6" flares. I used a bowl for 4" and my jig for 6". | |

| lol i was just joking chris bro if you want them go for it man, really canaan all you have to do is post up a pic of your jig an i can prolly get it from there. my jig is on its i think 7th application of bondo lol it worked so far. the heat gun works for me, i am sure the grease would work too but the gun works for me cause i am using a thin wall pvc. now if i get to that thick wall i will use the cooking grease | |

| well i have cut my flare making days short lol i kinkied myne a few hours ago an now i am thinking about what to do now lol. i may look into making them donuts rings chris that i saw on that site. i will go back to the flare if i can get my jig right. i may make a new one since the one i have is kinda like a rear flare port maker lol, i can't get it it to go down any farther so it can make the flanges so i can mount it to the box. i think i could get it right with a lil work though. | |

| I just screwed it to the box and glued it with sub floor adhesive. Than rounded the opening.not the best way but it works. I had to cut it off it wouldn't just break off. | |
