| I called Cory yesterday to have him buck Markey to go this year, but he has no points, so he would have to enter in expert. I think it would be worth it for him to since it is in his own back yard. | |

Since it is in his backyard tell him I have several TRIPLEs and DOUBLEs out there ... August 21 (3x) August 22 (2x) He might be able to accumulate most if not ALL at those shows. I also have a (3x) with a back up (1x) less than 5 hours from him in MS on August 7th and 8th. Let me know what I can do to help him get his points I will do what I can to help your friend! |

| Nolan,
I have the same number and e-mail.....
Anyway I don't have a clue what class IGGY would fall into. After all you built her under what ,1998 USACi/IASCA rules?
Hell for Dung Pile and giggles I would enter Expert. Rather lose to someone I know than somebody I don't know.

| LOL,
Sketoe, that's kinda screwed up. Two pairs of 15+ year old eq's that are less capable than say a F 1 or a MS-8 combined gets me in the highest classifications.
Think the brain trust that came up with those rules didn't think things though.
Another thing, I have looked at the classes. Just wanted to see who would chime in........ Extreme....Expert whatever, same thing to me.
It would be a hoot to beat a extreme car or two with an antique.....

| Why don't you bring your car then. You gripe about stuff a whole helluva a lot and then never show up. I can pull your post history and show you. Put your money where your mouth is. And 'brain trust' = me as part of it. I'm sorry your equip. is anitquated but I would still think it would do just fine. That rule makes total sense. A MS8, F1, whatever is allowed in modified even because it is 12v. I know Chris and I share opinions on what pro-audio gear is capable of now a days. You have to prepare for that when making rules. The days of making rules for a specific person that had Ralph's ear were over when this book dropped. Xtreme has 2seat and 1seat variations. You can pick. You won't be the only one in either class. | |

| I was part of that "brain trust" aswell. People were given plenty of notice to either attend the meeting or make their opinions known to someone that was attending the meeting.
Those that couldn't take time to atleast pick up the phone have no right to complain about it now. | |

| "Brain Trust" Member here as well.
Pro-Audio gear must be converted to 12v. When that happens, you no longer are running true 12v gear, and therefore must be placed in SuperMod or higher.
Markey, I don't know you personally, but, if Iggy is so well rounded as a competition car, and you yourself have said that it can still take down some of the cars now, well, put your pride where your mouth is. Jenissa has the shows that can get you qualified, and I am sure that your car will do very well in the extreme class. Bring it out and show us how it is done!

| Markey once told me after judging my car at Biloxi (an older less refined rendition) that if I wanted to hear what an SQcar should sound like or how a track should I work that I should listen to his car. Granted, my car was off mark at that time for sure. There are just some things that are bad judging joo-joo. So Markey, set the bar...bring the car. I thank you Markey for that day (seriously), you charged me up enough to tear the car down and make changes that lead me to winning USACi and IASCA consumer/amatuer championships and then runner up in USACi and IASCA Pro divisions with the same build. | |

| Sound is sound. Matter of fact, I think back in the day, I could tune a car just as good with a pair of EQT's or EPX2 for the same end result. More time obviously, especially when we had power classes and all the front end drivers were ran passive due to having to use smaller/fewer number of amps to stay in a specific power class. Today's technology (Bit One, F1, MS-8, etc.) just allow way more EASIER tuning and control of everything and quite honestly will spoil a tuner. It sure is convenient to sit in the front seat with my laptop and control every single speaker in the car. Doesn't necessarily make anything sound better just far easier to adjust and play with different things.
I was also one of the original 10 guys who helped come up with the new rules. Granted, there are several things that I don't like either but when u have a criteria that had to be met and yet make everybody happy including the ORGANIZATION we all had to sacrifice. There should have been way more SQ turnout at the meeting but it wasn't and I ain't going there. Easiest thing for anybody wanting to run SQ as-it-is currently is to go on the USACi website and download the entire rulebook (which isn't that big anymore either).
The overall class restructure was intended to classify ALL vehicles into appropriate classes BASED on the amount of MODIFICATIONS to the vehicle. This would eliminate $20k installs running in INTRO, etc. Believe me, I have multiple cars in the SAME classes because of the new structure but it is what it is. If there is low SQ turnout this year at Finals then I do fear that the classes will SHRINK even more for next year and I do understand. You can't keep having show promoters showing up with 30+ SQ trophies and handing out 4 or 5. I don't like any of it but anybody can see that USACi will have to do what is FEASIBLE for them.
Markey, you could run SuperMod SQ or SQ+ (with SPL) or Xtreme SQ or SQ+ (with SPL BUT one seat---anything goes---no limits) class OR Chris Pate class.....LOL We would all love to see you at Finals if you choose to come. I say run old-school with SPL. Hopefully, I will be building a new surprise maybe by late next year that will be old-school and still do 155+. Just not happening in a Camaro...LOL A lot of us wanted SPL put back into the mix but there were several that didn't so now you have a choice to run either or both. Sad but even after having it brought back, there has been virtually NO participation in ANY of the SQ+ categories (I mean cars with a high SPL), even the new STREET-Q crossover class. I sure hope this changes at Finals but who knows....

| Markey.....you should bring the car out. You really would not have to run against anything you haven't faced before. Super mod is in essence where all the Advanced cars ended up. And at the least you could run in one of the extreme classes........I would definitely love to have you there. | |

| I definitely think you should go Markey. Go for the fun, its really close and I think you wouldnt fair too bad, hell you might do really good. The car is old, unmaintained and the install is primitive by today's standards but it sure does sound good! So, I would make sure the battery is good clean it up and let it ride. | |
