| Right now Im using an 18" sub that has 4 stiff spiders and a konaki motor. The box is 4.5 cuft Net tuned to 38Hz, Sub up, Slot port back. The car is a 90 Acura Integra Hatchback and Im running a sundown SAZ3000D amp.
Chris Fish has been helping me a lot and after some testing found that with my current setup i'm peaking at 39Hz so I might have tuned my box wrong but Ive been checking with 12volt slot port calculator and its telling me i'm at 38Hz. Fish also told me my box is too big and too tall, that its suffocating the air from the port against the glass.
I'm ready to build a new box or modify my current box but i'm not sure which direction to go. I want to say i'm going for daily and SPL but in all honesty with all the shows going on this time of the year I really want some more SPL. Currently i'm hitting on the TL 148.8 with mic in the kick driver door open. | |
