| So how does a fellow go about getting started? I have an ol hot rod I'd love to put a system in. I want it to hit good and hard, but I don't have much room in my old pickup. | |

| Yep, around Forrest. Out in the boondocks really.
I have an old model Ford truck, with little to no room for a system. I want to put something in it thats gonna hit pretty hard. I don't care about hardcore contest, but some local stuff and crusin the coast fun is what I'm after.

| Well how about this. I'll ask you what I ask most of my customers here at the shop that are looking for some bass.
Lets gauge YOUR IDEA of loud. Because many (well most) of us on here have a totally different idea of LOUD vs the general public.
What system have you sat in recently that was 'loud enough' for you? What vehicle was it in? What equipment was in the vehicle?

| Uhh, I'm NEW to this. So, sorry I have nothing to compare against. I've been to crusin the coast competitions and would just like something that would fit into the daily driver type category. | |

| Budget? LOL Is this stuff really really expensive? I have about 30g already invested in this truck. I figured a cool and custom system would run a few grand. But really don't want to break the bank. | |

| Bob, You coming to Scrapin?
If so, drop by and say hello. I'm not sure what space you have in that truck, but I will have a measuring tape in the van and be glad to see what you can fit (comfortably) behind the seat.
I would HIGHLY recommend listening to a few audio systems before you decide on what you want. There is alot to offer out there in the 12v audio world and 99.9952345% of it will be personal preference. Don't settle for mediocre, spend your $ on what YOU want...not just what someone tells you to get. Your preference in music can (and many times will) be totally different than the 'expert' telling you what to get will says.
If you are looking to compete locally, drop by a local show and see what #'s are being put up. I know places in Jackson, Ms, host a few USACi comps every year.
btw nice truck | |

| I hope to be at Scrapin this year. So far so good as far as plans go.
There is a gas tank behind the seat, so I have no real room. No room in the truck much what-so-ever. It's gonna be a real challange to get something in it and sounding good.
