| Alright i had a show 2 weeks ago. Demoing my sh1t i managed to roll some smoke out the ol port. They all seemed to work after i let them cool down.
Well i think i fried one them because I have one hell of a voltage drop now and i can smell i get them hot.
Here is the problem. I have 8 subs. I took them all out tonight and metered the coils, checked the leads, joints and coil. Also used the good ol nose to see if i can find out that smelt bad.
All the coils meter fine and everything thing else seems fine as well. There was only one that caught my eye and that was because of the smell but it really wasnt that bad
My idea is. Test each one in a box and see which one will start to smell and cause more of a voltage drop then the rest
Anyone got any other ideas

| Push them in and out when they are good and wormed up you should have some coil rub on the one or ones in question . Your may have some rub cold but? | |

| measure coils independently and wired together per sub. I had a pioneer 12" spl-5000 that when the vc's were in parallel would read 0 but would read 3.8 each. It was like when the coils were in parallel that there was a direct short- i never pulled it apart to see because i had a warranty and sent it back. | |

Alright i had some one else mention metering them while pushing them in to see what they read. I already have them out so i will test them to see if i have any rub when they are cold

Then when they were all wired up to my amps they tested out fine

| i would carefully free-air them one at a time @ low hertz and low power. if you do that, any problems should be obvious. | |
