| you'll have to drop the sucker to replace it. Siphen the gas out and it shouldn't be too bad. I don't think you can pull the pump out without first dropping the tank. Didn't know if you were stranded somewhere but sometimes a simple 2x4 knock to the gas tank itself from the bottom can kick those into workin. Temporary fix but it worked for me when mine went out. Got her home and had it swapped out in no time. I recommend either a fuel pump from the dealer(more expensive) or maybe Autozone. The one I got from O'Reily's went out after 1 1/2 years. 1 year warranty meant I got screwed into paying for this fix twice. Cheap crap. Well Good Luck! | |

| most GM pumps have to be working to put at inline hi psi pump in front of them. I say most...because I have hands on seen a couple of cars that the pump died and they went inline instead of dropping the tank. | |

| As far as I can tell, fuel pumps never go out unless the tank is full. I have had to replace three on different cars all with full tanks. | |

It's probably got a bad spot on the armature. When it lands on that spot again it's not gonna start unless you hit the tank like mentioned above. | |

| well ours was not the pump i pulled the tank put new one in and still not working i checked the fuse and relay befor i did any work and they was fine but right next to the relay is the main harness that screws down tight after ya plug it in ... i think whow ever worked on it in the past just plugged it in and never tightined the screw . i bumped the harness and pump kicked on then noticed the center screw was not screwed down... all that work for a 60 sec fix | |

| I got lucky one time . I was changing a pump on a 89 jeep . Got it all back togather and didn't start , I took it back apart and there was smoke comming out of the hole. I looged at the pump and the wires wer melted . Just Copper , no plastic at all left on there. I took it back to Napa they said it was defective ! And just said try this one. I was a bit nervous putting that one in but it worked. | |
