2010 Finals

What time of year is best for holding Finals?

I suggest late July, when the majority of the "new guys" we are trying to attract can actually attend, you know before school starts up...... The Finals could possibly be held outdoors under a big tent and the expense could shrink tremendously... (no need for a large indoor venue)

How would that pan out for those guys and gals who have to get points to qualify...or those who are working on their cars to prepare for the Finals? Just a question. Honestly I like the idea of being outside.

the time of world finals needs to stay where it is ... its hard enough to go to big shows and get to finals early in the year ... USACI will loose money that way ... having finals late in the year with the turnover of points it the best thing to do ... great job USACI ...

IMO...in conjunction with the big Texas Heatwave show.

points are points and the calender is the calender.... the USACi fiscal year for accruing points could easily be changed,,, august to july with finals at heat wave.... heat wave is one of the largest shows in the country... its outside.... couldnt be too expensive... a ton of guys try to attend that event.... and it is centrally located... it has an indoor pavillion that could be used for judging, i would beleive... too many pros, and not enough cons,,, in my opinion......

july should work a bit hot , but again we seem to attend to shows that time of year .
One point about the points its true they can be move around , so how about march - may .that way the weather is beautiful and we can use the winter to get ready for finals .

world finals should be a end of the year finally ... just like it is ... it is way too expensive for a family guy like me to go to all these big events in the summertime ... my family wants to use my vacation time for ..........well vacation ... too much change at one time could be a bad thing if you dont be careful ... USACI has things set up like this for a reason ... they know what they are doing or else wouldn't any of us be here ... if we are true competitors like we say we are ... take all challenges like their given to us and make the best of it ... i'v only got a taste of world final victories and i cant wait to get more ... what ever classes, when ever, where ever, doesn't matter ... as long as the sport stays where its at .... great job USACI ...

I do not believe that you should move Finals to Heatwave. But i do believe that the date for finals should change. I would think more like late August or September. Because that is the slowest times for most Shops.

IMO November the weekend before Thanksgiving was always a bad Ida.

Summer sometime would be great

you guys are missing the point.... think about all of the young guys that you all sell systems too.... they are usually in school during the times of the orgs current finals.... If we are trying to turn consumers into competitors then why would we hold the finals event, at a time of year when they cant attend? If we are trying to win new competiotrs into the lanes, lets really do something that will allow more participation.... it doesnt matter to me,,, i either will or will not be there regardless of what time of year,,, but I am solely thinking about alot of the gyus that could be competitors if the season made since for them.... why would someone want to get serious about competing, if they know they cant attend the big show, because of school and the fact that there folks wont allow them to travel and miss school....

Again... i see your point about the summer. That would be nice. Are there any other major shows going on in June or July that would conflict with having Finals at that time?

I am sure there are many shows that can, could and do potentially conflict with each other.... If there was a way to host USACi Finals at the Heat Wave event it could be great... Again, one of the largest if not the largest truck shows in the country... There are tons of people attending this event anyway...

more than truck show...cars and trucks both are pretty plentiful.

Fact of the matter is no matter the date,it wont be convient for someone.

Agreed! You cant make everyone happy! I say leave it cause, unlike the location, atleast we all know when its gunna be! They dont change when the superbowl is cause its not convienent for one of the teams, and if the kids in school wanna go to finals then they can miss a day if they want! Hell I'm sure they have skipped out for alot less important things! lol

Thats understood. So lets not try to please everyone...lets just try to work for the best interest of as many as we can.

ok lets stay the course... dont change any rules. or do anything to try and attract new competitors,,, and we'll see how long there is a finals at any time of the year....

Mixed with a larer show would be great.

More foot traffic, more opportunity to interact with possible new competitors, more fun, magazines already cover the event so we reach more people and the list goes on.

Now is the time to change some things up for the better.

You either change or get left behind and we have been getting left behind.

Final should be it's own show like it has been since the begining not combined with other shows. and not in TX. TX sux

I'd suggest going either one of two directions:

1. Don't put it on the same date as any other finals being held in any other location.

2. combine with the other organziations and have one finals in one location.



1. seems like it wouldn't be that hard to pull off, but apparently it is.


2. Would require the owners of the orgs to get over their egos, and the competitors to stop being whiners about finals not being close to them. (this is for all orgs but not all competitors, but a good number of them)


So basically throw a dart at a calendar and be done with it. Seems that's what we have done up until now. Seems to be working out just fine

Wow...lol. I would just say it should be somewhere somewhat centrally located. We cant say have it in the south for the warmth anymore. They got northern weather in the south now...lol. Hell...its cold down south now!

i still suggest having it in a time of year that the most competitors can attend, and host it centrally to where all those competitors are from,,, and if we are trying to get new younger competitors into the lanes, then why would we schedule a finals during school session where they cannot attend? over the years, i have builr several cars that the young guys competeted, and eithe ri had to be their chaprone or they didnt get to go to finals,,, because of location or time of year.....

yes, well that is a whole another story and a bad idea altogether as well...

Honestly they should keep the chicks (and dicks) for the porn lovers. If someone wants to bring their family and children it gets a bit disgusting. I dont care if someone says cars and women go together. Especially when the chicks are as thin as as a pencil.

I am sure their daddy's are very proud of them....

As long as they are not naked it should be ok!
