Joint Finals a success. USACI numbers down due to very remote (from USACI) location but better than expected. Results posted on web site.

Ralph

I have always wondered since we added the "I" what USACi is doing in other coutries, I know we are running in Mexico and Ocassionally Canada, but what about the comps in columbia, or thailand, etc etc.

I was just kind of wondering do they follow the same class strutures as we do here in the states, i know mexico does, how do the numbers compare in other coutries compared to here. I haven't been out of the coutry as often as i used to, but when I was in the past it has always seemed that I hear and see alot more people doing the car audio thing than around the states. Are competitions thriving in these other countries, and how come we never see results, etc. Do they have seperate directors and website than us?

Just kinda wondering how big we actually are, and what works for them, and also how they compare to us.

thanks

This has been a point of contention for me as well. If this is not a "world wide" organization, how can there be "world champions"?
Now this in no means is ment to degrade the world champions, I commend you one and all, even Kumar (and that's hard for me to do).
This is just a discussion on the "i" in USACi.

Being that world finals is always here how would it be fare to the competitors in those other countries?
What incentive does USACi offer the foreign competitors to become a member?
There may be some loud guys out there, that may give us a run for the money but don't have the means to compete for a World finals because no world finals is offered to them or financially just don't have the money to ship their vehicles here.

In other words Ralph, I'm a competitor in Santiago Chile and I'm the loudest in my country, why should I join USACi, pay the same membership fee as the American competitor does, but will never recieve the same benefits of the American competitor to make it to a USACi World Finals.
Not trying to be funny Ralph, just trying to get a good conversation going.

Each country is it's own franchise. They have their own memberships and their own national finals.

If they place at their finals they have an open invite to attend ours. If they are any further than Mexico or Canada then they get their entry fee free as well.

Do they have to? Why would anyone in another country join a "so called international organization" but not recieve the same benefits of the organization that we do.
Guess what I'm trying to say is how do we take the title of "world champions" if the rest of the world isn't given the same benefits that we receive in this great country of ours?
Again, not looking at getting into a fight with some of you folks, just throwing another point of view out there so please lady and gentlemen, let's not get this twisted.
My exchange in this topic is only meant to elicit(sp) thoughtful dialogue and not to take anything away from our "world champions".
I'm just picking Ralph's brain on this particular topic?

Well... another way to view it.. If Usaci is in different countries, then it IS "international".. Just like say a bank for instance.. If it's set up in different countries, it would be considered an "international" bank, however, it wouldn't necessarily have the same products or guidelines in each country. It adapts to the people and surroundings.

Just tossing out another way to look at it.

I understand your point but my question is not about the word "international", it's about the term "World Champion".
Again, I'm not trying to deminish(sp) the accomplishments of our "World Champions".

i have been to USACI shows outside the U.S . and stay in contact with a lot of competitors in Mexico and Latin America .
And one question was "how they compare to us."
well with numbers in Mexico are getting a lot better every year and there is a few other south of them.
but , the biggest difference I find is attitude , they are very proud to be able to compete and being part of this .

is it fair and are complaining.
it's fair Usaci sets its date for world finals and everyone that is invited can attend no matter where you live and the ones that show up run for the world finals title .
are they complaining , well there are always complains (just follow this forum to get the idea)and complainers .But , on the most part NO .They have a good understanding of world finals and we been having quite a few competitors from Mexico make the trip in the last few years and the ones that done make the trip they "dream " to make it sometime .
