| We all know Usaci Rules and Ethics Committee is working hard to promote fairness and the pursuit of attention to detail.
But how on earth has the Usaci rulebook avoided the radar when it comes to attention to detail? Can someone enlighten us to a legitimate reason why this edition still looks like a mismash of cut and paste, out of date phrases and sprinkled with a few bad grammar from the rulebook dating back from 1999 to ALL the years up to and including the 2009 rulebook?
Here are only a couple of examples taken from the 2009 SQ Rulebook:
Sound “Q” “Q” is a competition format designed to highlight the “sound quality” of a system. The “Q” division will consist of the sound quality section of the advanced score sheet and a limited number of basic safety questions on the install portion. This class will have is an open power class at all local events. There class will be split to pro and consumer at regional and finals only.
Is it suppose to say: 'This is an Open Power Class at all local events.' ? 'This class will be split into Pro and Consumer at Regional and Finals only.'?
8. In Case of a Tie In the rare event that two or more competitors in the same power class receive the same total score, the winner of the tie will be determined by the highest Sound Quality score. If the competitors have the same Sound Quality score, the winner will be determined by the highest Installation score. If a tie still exists the SPL score will be used. If a tie still exists, the head judge will flip a coin to determine the winner.
Why does it refer to power class when there are none in SQ?
Next: This section doesn't even show a deduction category in the 2009 Advanced SQ Judging Sheet. What gives?
Except for USACI Regional and World Finals events, there will be no specific order in which competitors must be judged. A registered competitor may enter the vehicle in the judging line whenever he or she wishes, so long as there are other vehicles being judged. Judging will end when all vehicles are judged. It is the competitor’s responsibility to have the vehicle in the judging line before the judging ends. No score and no refund will be given to a competitor who fails to have their vehicle in the judging line before judging has ended. Any competitor who allows more than a 5 minute “gap” between cars at the first judging station will have 5 points deducted off of their score sheet. This 5-point deduction will apply to all vehicles in line after this competitor. If a competitor allows a 10-minute gap there will be a 10-point deduction and so on, until a maximum of 20 points is deducted. This will be referred to the “5 minute rule”
There's more .....I have a long list of my own.
Your thoughts and concerns? Please post here anything from the current rulebook that you find to be inconsistent, needs corrected and should be omitted.

| RULES-MEMBER INPUT AREA This is an area to talk about rules, new ideas, or problems with exsiting rules. If you have an idea for the Rules and Ethics members and want it to be heard then this is the place to put it! | |

| USACi, should bring back the rules and ethics member meetings that it used to hold..... Maybe every other year or something. As the industry changes and further developes, USACi can continue to place itself as the leader in promoting the industry and developing and changing and reveiwing competition rules as needed....... | |

| Let me be the first to say that I am a big fan and admire Usacis tenacity to survive through challenging times, since the demise of Thunder on Wheels, evolving as a worldwide leader in the industry and that I am a huge supporter, building three more cars of my own with my own money to pump more life back into the industry for next several years.
Membership with Usaci has grown tremendously and may double again, worldwide, in the next 10 years. Looking from this side of the fence, the first thing new members will see, as being part of this wonderful organization, is your presentation of the guidelines and rules that holds this sanctioning body together.
Creating this section in your forum allows members to share among other peers discussions and ways to improve about the very thing that binds us all together (the rulebook) is a great idea and should be welcomed without fear of persecution. Afterall, this is the "place to be heard." Isn't it?
I do not spend a great amount of time in this forum and I am not one to participate in any post count race but whenever I do visit here, I only hope to stay in touch with current topics and post with relevant content.
I posted this topic contrary to casting a negative light on Usaci and I am sorry and extremely saddened that you don't see it from our perspective. This is an obscure subject that just needed a jumpstart whom the Usaci Internet Competition Committee or any Committee for that matter may have overlooked. Ultimately, for what it's worth, Coach, you already have a (10-0) team who's able to pick up the fumble and run the ball to the right endzone.

(09/6) All the things you pointed out have been changed and will be in the next web site update. If you have a list please send it to us so we can address these issues. As for the point deduction, it will be deducted fromt he final score by the head judge. Did not see a need for a special palce for the point deduction but will look into it the next time we update the sheets. | |
