I guess I will post these here because we are hoping to "Get Loud." The Festiva will debut this year at the SWAT show in Lincoln, NE on July 27th.


She's not completely finished yet as you can tell, but the idea is there. 6- Boston Acoustics G5 12's ran off a MA 802SX.

Made it to the Lincoln Stereo West show and took home a first place in 0-1000. She hit a 155.3 dB, although it's been a little better in testing. It was hot. A big thanks to Bill, Timmy and all the SWAT guys for helping us, having an awesome show, and sticking it out in the heat.

well tiva i came over and checked the suspension on them subs you got them looked at the port and I think you dont have enough sub for that amount of port you got, and ill go a little further than that to say them subs arent meant for high levels of spl man. I am not in any way baggin on the setup i think you got a nice start going on, but them subs are way to felmsy with the amount of port you have you probly reach xmax really quickly.

thats what i was getting at..they jus cant use the spl enclosure..

Well, as sort of an update, everything we have tried has been unsuccessful. Everything that was suggested was taken into account and tried more or less. At this point I'm not sure if it would be easier to make it loud or actually be able to find a cliff in Nebraska to drive it off.
The face is coming out and a redesign is in the works...

my gpa owns an old flooded out limestone quarry with some cliffs to the 114 ft bottom that nobody would find anything in... if your interested i won't charge that much

114 ft deep water that is... the cliffs are a good 20 ft

well hey tiva if ure running that hk4000 on 12v you probly getting 2k watts man.


you need 16v for that amp to come alive.

you also tried differant subs and that didnt help huh

we were seeing more out of it last year.

we don't have any availability to get/ have any testing with diff subs.

try reconing those woofers you got.......with some more spl related parts

are those boston 3in inch coils? and no doubt like jeff says.. get that amp on 16v....i know someone who could hook you up on some nice recones....

they are 2.75 or 2.5 inch coils........but yea i told them to get ahold of boston if they want to rep them maybe get them some more spl related parts and use boston dustcaps it would still be boston

heck ill do the recones as much as i hate reconing ill do it and garuntee they wont break

I'm not sure how you'd do it. It's not your everyday sub design. The soft parts come out as one peice.

HAVE YOU SEEN MY LOG CABIN?

Spent tonight working on new face. It should make an appearance at the Metro Audio on the 7th, assuming it happens. If not then it will be at the SWAT show on the 21st next month. It's new and hopefully improved. We'll see I guess.

Yeah we made a decent showing at the SWAT show. 155 flat manned and 154.8 unmanned. We are still learning new setup and breaking in new woofers. New setup still isn't quite as loud as we would like, but, it has a lot more potential. I will post pics later today or at least this week. I'm not sure how much we will be working on it too soon. I am having a son born this week and with the possibility of Finals not in Omaha, we will just see what happens from here on out.

Thank you, he's wonderful. Everything's great here now. At least something to focus on.

Project is still up in air because of way to make it to Finals. Will get pics up still and probably still work on it, but now there is no real deadline.
