3X show in exira iowa june 29th 1X entry fee

our next show is a triple point for single point entry fee the june 29th in Exira Iowa there is no address its on the city square along with a car show... any question on show call us at 712-243-2381 or for car show cal l712-243-4990

Unfortunately another "organization" has set up a competing show on the same date just 100 miles away, and did it knowing about this show! We sincerely hope our memebrs so not support this type of negative behavior. It if bad for USACI, bad for the retialer, and bad for the competitors. Thsis is the type of activity that accounts for retailers choosing NOT OT CONTINUE TO DO SHOWS!.

Reminder: IOWA is 200 points for finals this year. NO EXCEPTIONS.

I could say alot on what you have posted there Ralph, but will refrain. Only thing I will say is this.

If a retailer wants a show done, it is the right of the promoter to do so. Regardless if another org is doing a show that same day a little farther away and knowing about this event. The retailer is paying for the show, not the promoter.

I am not promoting, nor saying to go, just giving you something to think about.

This is a USACI forum and yeah, go to this show and support USACI, since it is posted here.

Considering I Was Going To Drive To Atlantic, I’m Pretty Sure I Can Make It To Exira.

Tell that to the Retailer who spent time and money promoting their event jsut to have it sabotaged! Tell that to the promoter who drives 350 miles to lose his butt becasue he is splitting revene now!

This is bad for business and will eventually be the demise of the entire sport!

It is unethical to defraud a retailer or competitors by setting up a competing event the same day on purpose. I understand where your loyalty is, based on your competition organization of preference, but that should not cloud your judgement or morals. Wrong is wrong.

In the past when the table was turned we have heard endless compaints from the "other guy". Difference is, we made the right decision and moved our event. The "Other Guy" will not recprocate and that goes directly to motive and character. Then again, the "other guy" has never been shy and even bragged aloud that his entire goal is money and nothing else.

Luckily for the other org. USACI WILL NOT turn around and do the same to them. That would be ugly.

I understand the retailer point of view, but also look at both retailers at hand. Both want to make money, both want to get customers in there shops, both want to have a comp.

If one org is busy, they choose another org to do what the one can't do at that time. Regardless if it is a bad time and another org is in close range from the other. That is what they want, that is what they get.

Sure the promoter can turn them down and say this other org is in town and they don't want to offend them, but also looks bad on the promoter and may not get there bussiness in the future. It is a double edge sword by all means. I guess I see in more ways then you do on this situation.

And as you said, "the other guy" in this situation hasn't bragged about money and doesn't believe that a comp should be mainly about that. main goals in an org or comp to "the other guy" to have fun and let the reatiler make money.

My loyalty has nothing to do with any of my posts on this matter, just a look at a whole, which I think you as one, have over looked on the retailers sides. Regardless of there rivilary if there is one.

I compete in both and will remain doing so, granted this year I have yet to be to one of yours, but that is based on the money that I haven't been able to spend to be competetive in my class. Granted I say I do this for fun and enjoyment, but it takes more money and that is something I don't have for here at this time.

One question.

How come this is just now being complained about, when you have done other shows with other organizations?

I am curious, and I am not starting anything up.

Holding a combined event ADDS to the show and the value to the retailer. Head to Head show split the value of the show and hurt the retailer.

Two very opposite effects.

USACI is in IOWA a total of 6 weeeknds so far in 2008. That leaves 46 other weekends or options to set up a show.

This "Retailer" has several locations and could do the event further away at another location.

The USACI show was set up LONG before this one..

Matt I think you are confusing orgs here. Just so known who is the other org. I think matt thinks it diff then what it is.

I am done. Won't see the retailers point of view rather then the org's themselves.

BTW. 100 miles away is far enough to hold another show for a different org. What retailer markets there bussiness over 100 miles out anyways ?

Then if you have a problem with it, I would suggest compromise.
Either of you can easily move the date, thus helping both the retailers out.
Simple and keeps the peace.

I think the show that is competing is a drag show guys. Could be wrong tho

And our show was first. We asked them if they could move the date and were told no.

I tried to move our event before calling them. Our dealer is holding his show with an annual car show and cannot move it! We tried to be the better guys.

This sucks. And 100 miles is WAY TO CLOSE because those who travel will have to choose instead of being able to do both. The COMPETITORS LOSE as well....

Nope...clamped classes...the show was moved due to flooding in the state to this date...rain date...geesh.

if its the clamped classes, then yes that promoter is a shady businessman to say the least. he thinks hes god in the 12v world and has no reason to think so. he used to be a great promoter and had a good run of alot of fun shows, but as the years have progressed, so has his greed. he wants your money and wants the show over! as an individual, hes a decent guy, but as far as business or an idea for business, i dont trust him as far as i can throw him and will NEVER compete at any of his events.

I know everyone will have there opinions.

First know who is promoting the comp before jumping on the one that is in thought of doing the promoting.

At USACI, I am responsible for the organization, including promoters who I allow to use the name. I do not always like it but I am always the one who takes the hit.

I have to work in the afternoon. I can make it to the other show and back in time, but I know I would end up running late if I went to Atlantic, so I won't be able to make it this time.
