SHOP OWNERS

So what are you doing to stay afloat in these slow times?

No slow time here.

120 cars with hail dents ... $400 per car

not slow.

never slow if service is good

I know several shop guys as well, and they are busy as hell.

If you're having a tough time with your business, I sympathize. My show schedule is as good as it's ever been and I'm fielding at least 2 calls a week for bookings.

In order to save you the flack you're apt to receive for starting this thread on such a negative note, please come back with a more positive attitude or ..... based on your years of experience, why not try offering some of your business acumen to help those that are experiencing a downturn in business?

folks my post is for research only? i am not slow, i am two small to be slow, i am just seeing whats going on out in the feild most all of my friends are techs are own shops etc, they tell another story i have the same post on three other forums they tell another story so i am just seeking facts is all, from what i see so far most are not making money on Audio.

i see quite abit of business at the store i compete for....................................................................

i'm having a real hard time .i hired two additional guys in the last 10 days and scheduled two sound off events today .

in all seriousness , most can't say they do there absolute best .we all have room for improvement . i know for a fact i have lots to improve upon . some people don't have the vision ,some people don't have the dedication ,some people don't have the work ethic . we are our own worst enemy . i have a ton of things to learn and make better . i'm enjoying my journey .

So then, is it now fair to conclude from your research that USACi member/dealers are more prosperous than the dealers that populate the other forums you spread your sunshine in? Or, is the drift of your opening post to inform us that "The sky is falling?"

no that was at me like it always is lol he saw Quad and went Mad with power like they all do.

I've talked to several dealers. Most or all are doing very well, doing higher #'s than last year. Have hired more staff, opening up second stores, etc. etc.

The man gave him the answer. He just assumes doom. From what i hear a lot of shops are having really good times right now.

Oddly enough, we are back to normal. We had 2 1/2 years of very slow business. I thought about closing for a long time. Got behind on rent. Didn't pay sales tax for a couple months. Finally have all that behind us.
We started getting busy before Thanksgiving and have stayed busy since. That's almost 6 months.

I hope it stays this way.
