| so ive been all about budget equipment for the longest time. well, i finally stepped up to some big boy toys and spent some dough. im anxious as hell and was curious on opinions of what kind of gains i can expect. i currently have been running 3 15" lanzar maxp15's on 3 MA HK2k's in a 11.5 cubed box ported to 37ish. i topped out on the TL at 144.3, but since then i upgraded my HU and its jumped to a 145ish. i just ordered 3 15" sundown SA-15's. what gains can i expect? any opinions are appreciated. | |

| That would be sick! It's hard for me to believe that, but I know my amps will be pushing around 1000 at 1 ohm (i clamped them at at like 980watts a couple years ago). I was getting maybe 750 out of the 2 Ohm load. Only worry I have is my voltage drop getting worse and clipping the crap out my signal. I've had the tendency of blowing up my subs that way. | |

| So i got em in. They sound great! but.....no initial gain. Definitely not 3 db. I have an audiocontrol epic160. I'm seeing the same numbers so far(143). But i only spent about 15 minutes of proper break in time on them. They bang hard, and sound different for sure. Hopefully breaking them in will allow me to get a little more out of them. My sub setting is afterall at -15 right now. The biggest difference i've noticed so far is the lows, flexing my van's panels more than before. Overall, i'm happy with my purchase. Ready to represent a new brand. | |

| Have you tried to get on a termlab meter? I know a guy that was boasting about his 159 with a epic 160 and he could only do a 151 on my spl labs meter which is comparible to the TL. | |

| Chris- i get what you mean, but i was running lanzars. $53 subs. and im at 1ohm instead of 2, so more power. i was hoping for some gain...... and 20hz- i was on the TL last year with my old alpine dva HU, 2.2 outputs. now im running a pioneer avic9600, 4 volt outputs. so ive noticed gain from that jump in signal output. and my ac mic has always been within 1 db vs the TL in my other van. i was reading 151(my mic) in the old van and 150.3 on the TL on my windshield. so 1 dbish....when i tested the new van last year i hadnt yet moved my ac mic over. that did 144.3db(TL). so i figured with the new HU i should bust 145. but my mic so far has topped at 143. but thats also considering my mic is now in the center console glove box, semi obstructed compared to having it on the dash on top my HU in the old van. basically what im saying is that im not loud enough. might do a new box soon. birchwood. im getting hella flex from my current box. and i need to go subs up port back instead of subs up port up. im confident i'll see gain but this ish needs work. a lot of work. got the equipment finally, just need to get the build right...i always wanted a 148 out of my stock box. but like i said.....needs work | |

| you know there might be a huger differance between the subs if the enclossure is actually built and tuned for that sub
just switching subs will not yiled a huge advantage at all.
you cant take out a funky pup, and throw in a dd99z and see a huge differance ya know

| understandable. i know these subs want 3.5 each tuned to 35. im at 3.83 each tuned to 37. not a big difference at all but im sure you're right that would help at least a little. and porting backwards should help with some gain. i'll get there. seen my first 144 on my mic today playing music so its all good with me for the time being. they definitely slam the lows a crap ton better so overall i am happy. i guess i was just hoping for more. thanks for the input from everyone though | |

| spl app stop using what the manufacturor recommends because its not what your doing with them
you need to buy a lot of mdf and start building man there is no one and done box, and specs are out the window in spl apps
build as many box's as it takes to get close to what you are wantinf for a number then leard to tuen the interior of the car

| You"ll Need To Run A Bigger Box Than What The Lanzar's Were Running!!! And Your Running 1 Sub To 1 Amp?? Or Am I Reading That Wrong??? I'd Almost Try 2 15s And 1 Amp Down To .5 Or 1 Ohm. I Ran 4-15s In A 20 Cubed Box @ .5 But With Rise Was .68 On 47 Hz!! | |

| Sanman- I typically only do 1 show a year so street beating is more important to me. my box now has a port tuner in It so I can pull it out at shows and gain a db. . The box is also rattling apart in some spots cause of the lows flexing my panels too much. So my goal is to build a new box out of birch to help stiffen it up. Icant really afford a bunch of boxes. I also work 7 Days a week so time is an issue. August 25th is the only show I'll be doing this year more than likely. InsayneSoundz- im probIIy going down to 2 amps. that Way i'll be able to run master/slave instead of gain matching(can't get that perfect with these amps). and im also trying to stay stock and behind third row seat in my astro. so bigger isnt gonna work either. 3 15'S are a great fit. I just need to work on better wood and better tuning/port placement. my spl van has a 32 cubic ft box in it just need some new subs that I can't afford. So for right now the daily driver just needs to sound good and be kinda loud. thanks for tHe sUggestions guys. | |
