| Ive got the pdf file of state records and I was wandering what the local A and local B classes consisted of. Is it just a class for noobs. I havent seen any rules for it so is it a class I could possibly get in since scrapin the coast will be my first one. | |

| Well i know two of the guys that hold Local a,b,c records, and i'm pretty sure those guys aren't usaci members. From my understanding it is a free'd classing system in which the judge can determine the limits of each class. I think your right about it being a newb class but i do not know what in the past has determined which Local class you are placed in. BTW that .pdf is long overdue for an update.
Also, you don't have to be a member to compete in the regular classes.

| I just figured I could get a feel for the competition atmosphere in the local classes and see if I would like to move to another class. The box I have now should be able to do high 140s maybe a 150. | |

| Run superstock 0-600 and be done with it. No reason to run the local classes. | |

| I asked my wife if she wanted to go with me, she said nope, so no worries on my end. She can't hardly make it through a 6 hour car show, i don't know what is gonna happen at scrapin this year.. geesh..
I'm sure there is someone down there with a TL, i have an SPL Labs that is very accurate, but i'm 3 skips up the road.

| That would be fine with me. The closest meter to me that I know of is like 5min from me but its a audiocontrol and they have to get it from their gulfport store and usually they forget to get it. Theres a termlab at audiowave which is about 20min away but the guy that did the testing doesnt work there anymore and they dont know how to run it. How hard is it to use a termlab? I was actually thinking about makin them an offer on buying it from them. Id learn how to use it and go to them when somebody wants to test. | |

| To be honest, i think there are a few guys on here down on the coast with TL's, but its not right for me to volunteer them, but they may offer. If a TL is like my SPL Labs, you just simply open the software on a computer and set up a few variable, and run it.
I used my SPL labs with my pc maybe 2-3 times, but it also is wireless and works with my Android phone, so i only have to carry around with me my Motorola Milestone X and the small sensor, and thats it. Is Audiowave still there? I did a Usaci show there back in 2005 but i haven't been back to Gautier since then. Just a little FYI, if you do buy a used TL, i see them go for $400-$500 often used, sometimes little more little less.

| I got it on pre-order back in October, it was $409 total. I downloaded the free spl labs app on my phone and all i have to do is turn the meter on, open the app, it connects via bluetooth and i start metering. I metered a friends car at his first comp back in Nov, he did a 142.49 on my meter, 20 minutes later got on the tl and did a 142.5, so its very close! It works with any android phone and even works with ipads, maybe even iphones now, not sure. | |

| http://www.spllabusa.com/I got mine from the rep on CACO, but i remember recently hearing that all purchased would have to be made through dealers now or something. Oh and it comes with free software updates for life. | |

| the shipping sounds like BS, see if you can find it anywhere else. That meter weighs like 1 lbs and its shipped usually in a padded envelope. | |

| I just looked at the vendor section on CACO, and they say that they will no longer sell directly to customers and that you have to use a distributor. They also mention set prices, so it should be the same everywhere. | |

| You just have to convince him that he will never use it again.. that sucks because our local shops really need to host comps again.. If he doesn't want to sell at least pressure him into putting it to good use and having Usaci host a show there. I would come and bring a few with me. | |
