Ford explorer scenario again...

First topic message reminder :

ok so i had a "show/music" box that i used for my btl n2 18. it was on 2 1700s at .35 strapped. heres the specs

41x17x25 deep
tuned to 37 with 16 inches of port per cube.
sub up port back
154.1 @ 50 htz

WELL.... i thought id build myself a nice spl box for it. heres those specs

41x19x25 deep
tuned to 41 with 28 inches of port per cube
sub up port back
153.9 @ 50 htz.

my question is why on earth is the spl box not as loud? do i have too much port area? whats the max port area i could use before dropping the score?

I will guess 4" off the drivers side is louder but ...

me too but i will try the angled toward the corner, and passenger side and also sub back port to the side.

ok well didnt really have time to build an entire new box but i just modified my spl box. cut the port off the bottom of the box and put a new bottom piece. then threw a 8" aero 16 inches long in there. Just gonna see if shrinking the box a little and lowering tuning helps with the lower end output much. heres some pics of before and after.

6.5 cubes, tuned to 41, 180 inches of port 153.9 db


New modded box. 5.63 cubes, tuned to 32, 50.24 inches of port, UNKNOWN db, (will test in a week)

That box for 4 18's ?

lmao no chris just 1. its only getting like 4k on music maybe so it dont need to be to small.

Just buy Fred's and be done with it...lol

take about 3 zeros off and i can. wish i had the cash to spare. pretty much just buying a championship and getting a free explorer lol

ok so this new box sounds like garbage. anyone have any ideas why?
