| I see a lot of people running several runs of 0/1 to there rear batteries. I did a little testing on this vs frame grounds....... I tested with the truck running with 3 runs of ground @ 12'' foot each and got 14.3 volts @ 104 amps at idle. with 3 short runs of 1/0 going to each frame rail to the battery and block, I got 14.4 at 108 amps .... I know thats not a huge difference but my question is why spend the money of all those runs of wire.
Someone help me if im missing something here. I would like to have a better understanding of this. | |

| I can see it making a big difference with a high output alternator. Also depends on the current draw from your amps. | |

| i think the reason some people may see a greater gain than others is that vehicles vary, oem grounding points, amount of tack welds on unibodies, etc. You can take your meter, lay out a ground wire to the grounding point and measure the resistance through the chassis, as well as the wire. Your are measuring copper vs steel which has been welded here and there, so maybe some people are running a lot and its over kill for them, while others may not even need to run extra ground wire and can just ground to the chassis just fine. | |

| If you have a full framed car and sokid runs to the frame your fine. We tested bavk to back in a expmorer years ago. At least there was no change in score. | |

| from my experience i usually ground to the frame if its not a unibody if iits a unibody i ground up front and run to the back unibody's suck for grounding! | |

| Im seeing it as the frame being a huge conductor, I know that steel isnt the best but its size has got to make up for something. | |

| true if you were to combine the steel, the cross section would be massive compared to a a piece of 1/0 ground. I have been considering this too, i am going to measure resistance of both to find the better. Also, i have seen people post a gain of about .3 db from grounding the amp directly to the source. | |

| Well the way I did mine was from the block to the battery, then 2 runs from the battery to each frame rail and 1 run to the cab..... gettin 14.4 at the rear batteries. | |

| well, it cannot hurt anything, just may not be necessary in some area's or on some vehicles. | |

| The really loud guys with multiple runs usually just keep adding runs until they stop gaining. The not so loud guys just do it because that's what they see the loud guys doing. Lol. | |
