CES pics

Just spent the last 3 days at CES and I'm beat. Saw alot of cool things, 3D tv was the big thing that was being shown along with some cool phones (apparently they are all the rage, lol) anyway, the car audio section/ north hall was the smallest I have ever seen for mobile audio, nothing really jumped out as exciting. For the second year in a row Alpine didn't have any crazy fiberglassed vehicle, in fact both the cars they had were electric (a Prius and a Tesla, which is only exciting if you saw the Top Gear electric car episode). I'm sure I didn't hit every manufacturer and if you are looking for one in particular that I didn't get I appologize, there were alot of nice vehicles though so onto the pics. PS at the end there is a bonus pic.

Pioneer had this flat black shaved Lexus, it was pretty nice




This is the amp rack in the Lexus.




This was Pioneers "big install" using their shallow subs in a Scion.




Power Bass had this really nice "racer" Toyota

The dash was iced out (I think thats the correct term, I don't know I'm old) with 4 big monitors, look at the windshield and you can see the top of the dash is lined with 6's.




There are 16 12's providing the low end.




Dont forget the hatch full of amps to power the whole thing.

Wait a minute what is that I see, not only is he now running 2 subs but they are the new DB Drive subs.




This is Phoenix Golds' new amp called "The One", they claim 11,000 watts at 1ohm, hmmm.




This beautiful piece of American art was in the Cadence booth.




Memphis had this sweet air bagged full size.




I dont remember what booth this was in but this a beautifull big body Lexus ??460H, it was like maybach big

Outside Vibe had some vehicles displayed like this S-10




The S-10 featured Vibes' entry level line with 8 10's, 2 4 channel amps at 1050 watts total RMS and coax 6's for the high end, it sounded really good for a budget system. They told me this setup is under $2000 (not including install)




Oh yea, Kenny was out there too giving demos, I'll tell you what this thing hurts, it definately sounds and feels louder with the Vibe equipment and it is extremely musical also.

Over at the Palms Rockford had their booth, one of the vehicles was this large Merc van with a new RTTI install.




If you ever see this thing at a show you have to get a demo, not only are there 12 15's but when they seal you in you get this amazing audio / visual show which you have to experience for yourself.




Rockford calls this the worlds loudest rally car.




It features 16 8's




This really nice rat rod was displaying Rockfords' new line of custom shop equipment.




Steve Meade was in the booth giving demos of the new install, A pillars




New Rockford mids in the doors including an 8" midbass driver.




With the rear seat folded down you can see part of the amp rack.

On a side note, I am not one of these people that go on forums claiming "Steve Meade is the greatest installer around and no one holds a candle to him" nor do I bash him or his installs, this is the first time I met him and the first time I have seen his truck but I will say straight up his truck sounds amazing, the sound quality is top notch, one of the best sounding "loud" vehicles I've sat in, if I had 1 complaint is its lacking good rear fill but I'm an old school IASCA guy. If you get a chance to actually listen to it please do. Ask him instesd of Yo Yo Yo music play some Michael Jackson I think you'll be impressed too.

It was about a quarter of the size as it was last year and I did not see any vehicle but don't quote me it might have been on the other side of the booth and I just did not see it, hell I still go there just to see if maybe they brought the armoured truck, lol

It was there, I wanna say 4 years ago when the comercial was still popular, I think that was the last time I saw the armoured truck.

I'm waiting to hear from hear from Jeff, but he did say before C.E.S. that there wasn't much of a marketing value in demo vehicles at a show like that.He told me they were pursuing "other" ways of direct marketing this year.So i knew they weren't breaking out anything new for this year.One of the "other" attempts of marketing is the reason we are "team planet audio" and are ourselves building "demo vehicles" that they don't have to build anymore.I'm surprised they did bring the Pepsi truck,the way I took it was the unavailing of the "Anarchy" line and the prototype of their new Head units was the main attraction of their display.

Great pics, that Memphis truck is sweeet! I got to see a BMF sub yesterday at Audio 2000 here in Tucson. I will post sum pics after i go back there manana. Massive Audio has a 15 inch LIMITED EDITION SUB Called "The Rhino". It weighs 110 pounds and does GET THIS 10,000 WATTS RMS!!!!! Massive is only making 100 of these subs.... The one at Audio 2000 is the first one in the production. I think Bill said it cost $1500 for the sub. Massive Audio has new amps that do something like 15000 watts.

The paint job is nice but like I told Danny at the show its more for the company, the blue and silver paint job was more like if it drove off the show room floor, like factory colors of the era.
