That may be why you don't own a shop lol. Those pre-fabs come "free" with a purchase of a pair of DD's. We custom build enclosures that match the customer's vehicle size and freq for an extra cost. We have a pre-fab and a custom built box with matching woofers for customers to hear the difference before purchasing, the sound is noticeable, but rarely do they want to spend an extra $150-200 on box for a pair of 500 series 100 dollar subs. If you notice the pics all the subs in pre-fabs are 500 to 1500 series, the 9500's are loose and we would never sell a prefab with a model above a 1500 series. Do you understand now? haha (FYI, theres many "pre-fabs" companies out there that'll build to your own spec if you buy enough of them. And to be honest, we're happy with that. They buy materials in larger volumes which means they can build them cheaper than us and more efficiently through cnc, it saves us the time and mess. We can install 6 radios in the time it takes to build a box, time is money dawg.) | |

| whats any of that have to do with WHY i dont own a shop?...IF i owned a shop i just simply wouldnt want a car with my name on it running a prefab. id rather it be 150% its full potential,so there is no question im the best around. but, the reason i DONT own a shop is sorta what you said..but i dont think you meant it as im putting it.. not wanting to mess with prefabs is WHY i have decided i dont own a shop i would much rather bang out a nice enclosure ,than slam in 6 decks and factory replacement speakers. Ive been around the industry a bit more than just the SPL side man and in a shop i have zero desire to compete with best buy and circuit city installs.. IF i had a shop it wouldnt be focused on 100% profits it would still have some heart for the "hobby" and quality over quantity and wouldnt make a ton of money to start.. i want a car to be at my shop for a week not an hour.. this is WHY i dont own a shop.... instead the "shop" i promote is ran from my driveway , and i do what i want and dont have to worry about the rent. | |
