Subject: AMP TROUBLE. Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:31 pm
Just wondering if anybody could help. I went to hook up my amp to my subs everything working good. Then I went to turn down the gain there was a big ass spark. Now there is power on the amp but no power to the subs.

sounds like the output went out.
This wouldnt happen to be a hifonics amp? I've been hearing alot of blown outputs with there amps.

sounds like vibration issue. we had one go cause of vibration. doesnt matter where it is mounted cause if there is much vibration they will go with very little force. ab amps arent soldered correctly and with enough solder. this happens to 75 percent of ab amps is what i was told. about a 125 dollar fix...

was there a lot of smoke ... or just a big spark? Was it near the output side of the amp or the input side?

it was just a spark by the gian knob and then when I went to hook up the subs to the amp it sparked again. Another thing everytime I would try and grab the amp it would shock the hell out of me

It sounds like it is a quick fix, being as it is probably originating from the input section.
