First topic message reminder :

STREET BEAT RULES – 2009

Add up points based on the number of woofers in your car (Points Chart).
Use your points to determine your class (Class Chart).

1. No constructed enclosure or speaker placement that may manipulate the SPL sensor may be placed forward of the “B” pillar and will be considered reason to reclassify the vehicle to the Port Wars or Super Port Wars divisions or disqualification. This decision will be at the discretion of the head judge.

2. Scores will be determined by an average SPL taken over 30 seconds.

3. Sensor placement will be any place in front of the “B” pillar facing forward with globe affixed or mounted to windshield without globe at 12” to the left of passenger’s side A pillar and 4” above the dash. (Competitor’s choice)

4. Only commercially available music may be used for judging (no burned cd’s). Only music may be played. Music must contain a discernable bass beat or rhythm. Music with intentionally extended bass tones will not be allowed. This will be at the discretion of the head judge.

5. 1200 rpm maximum (no reveing engine during test).

6. Windows up or down, doors and/or sun roofs open or closed. Doors can be fanned but not slammed during the run.

7. In the event of a system malfunction prior to a score being recorded, the competitor will be given 5 minutes to make repairs and attempt to register a score.

8. Factory or factory replacement front seats must be installed in the vehicle in factory locations. Must have the front bench or both front seats.

9. No woofers larger than 8” inches may be forward of the “B” pillars. (Limit 4)

10. All woofers larger than 8" must be behind the back of the front drivers and passengers seats.

11. SB5 is the only class open to any vehicles that use a system voltage higher than 14.7 maximum or utilize multiple alternators. Any competitor meeting any or all of the above qualifications may compete in SB5 by choice.

12. Reruns are allowed.

13. Any current USACI member who competes in at least one Street Beat event will be invited to compete in Street Beat at the USACI world finals.

14. A “competitor” may not run any vehicle under his name or membership number unless said vehicle is legally registered to the competitor in his state of residence prior to the event date. (A bill of sale will not fulfill the requirement for this rule.) The owner of the vehicle must be present at the event and must be the person who has registered to compete with it. Competitor may opt to have another person run said vehicle in the competition on his/her behalf.

15. In the event an issue arises that is not covered above the decision will be at the discretion of the head judge and the USACI Rules and Ethics Board.

john i have to agree with navi... he makes a good point, people complain because the way it is doesn't cater to them.... THIS IS THE GAME U PLAY OR U DON'T!!!!

Okay, unless I'm taking the comments in this thread and the comments in the "Power Classes" thread wrong, it appears that what we have to do is first find out what EVERYBODY wants, and has in their vehicles ... and make a class and/or division for them.

I know I'm old and thick. I know that we wrote Street Beat as a "psuedo-music" playground. I know it has been very successful, matter of fact there were more Street Beat competitors at Finals this year than burp cars.

Street Beat is doing a good job of meeting it's goals. If your vehicle is a "lead sled", don't enter it into NHRA drag races. Same goes for not meeting the criteria for NASCAR. Why then does Street Beat have to be adjusted to match what you're driving or trailering? It's hard to deny that Street Beat is a fun division.

But it took a woofer ("MythWoofer") that was 4 feet across made of aluminum, simi truck inner tube and run off of a 4 cylinder dissel engine with a 3 speed transmission connected to the woolfer. Wayne Harris was the SPL judge!

itll burp 163 at 53hz and burp 160 at 39 and 40 not full 30 sec just a burp. ill move the wall back a few more cubes this year and add more power and hopfully gain a few more dbs at 10 hz lower

Kenny he was burping a 58 unmanned n august and a 61 manned me n it now he is burping a 60+ unmanned u do the math. I know its all unmanned now but he will do it just set back and watch

Mics can be adjustded

Also the Bucket is not a burp box it is a bandpass with 8 tens that will play music like no other!!!!

you want to see 160 below 60hz? No problem
you want 160 below 50hz no problem you will
everyones setup is different and EVERYONE has a burp note EVERYONE!!!

In case you guys are wondering my "burp box" as you guys call it that i won finals with in 06-07 was tuned to 39hz, so some "burp boxes" can play music. While it might not be tuned as low as some, it was still capable of playing music if i wanted it to, just had to change ohm load so it wasn't so low, that doesnt mean i would play a song in the mid 40 hz range if i were to do SB though, gotta use what works best for the car and score in the lanes.

I only did SB once with it, only 2 batts, 2 amps, did a 57 something 3 clicks down from my burp volume, that was with the old cheater disc though.

Dung Pile if anyone else post a vid of a run of their car other than me or kenny colman hell i will Dung Pile my pants. i only seen a choice handful of guys do that starting with jimbo, i think rob did, bobby price, an matt sibly but i think i posted that one. wait it was posted last year by kennyb, all i am saying is i think everyone who don't thinks they don't have anything to prove so thats why they don't. me i will post it good or bad.
