Joint Finals a success. USACI numbers down due to very remote (from USACI) location but better than expected. Results posted on web site.

First topic message reminder :

STREET BEAT RULES – 2009

Add up points based on the number of woofers in your car (Points Chart).
Use your points to determine your class (Class Chart).

1. No constructed enclosure or speaker placement that may manipulate the SPL sensor may be placed forward of the “B” pillar and will be considered reason to reclassify the vehicle to the Port Wars or Super Port Wars divisions or disqualification. This decision will be at the discretion of the head judge.

2. Scores will be determined by an average SPL taken over 30 seconds.

3. Sensor placement will be any place in front of the “B” pillar facing forward with globe affixed or mounted to windshield without globe at 12” to the left of passenger’s side A pillar and 4” above the dash. (Competitor’s choice)

4. Only commercially available music may be used for judging (no burned cd’s). Only music may be played. Music must contain a discernable bass beat or rhythm. Music with intentionally extended bass tones will not be allowed. This will be at the discretion of the head judge.

5. 1200 rpm maximum (no reveing engine during test).

6. Windows up or down, doors and/or sun roofs open or closed. Doors can be fanned but not slammed during the run.

7. In the event of a system malfunction prior to a score being recorded, the competitor will be given 5 minutes to make repairs and attempt to register a score.

8. Factory or factory replacement front seats must be installed in the vehicle in factory locations. Must have the front bench or both front seats.

9. No woofers larger than 8” inches may be forward of the “B” pillars. (Limit 4)

10. All woofers larger than 8" must be behind the back of the front drivers and passengers seats.

11. SB5 is the only class open to any vehicles that use a system voltage higher than 14.7 maximum or utilize multiple alternators. Any competitor meeting any or all of the above qualifications may compete in SB5 by choice.

12. Reruns are allowed.

13. Any current USACI member who competes in at least one Street Beat event will be invited to compete in Street Beat at the USACI world finals.

14. A “competitor” may not run any vehicle under his name or membership number unless said vehicle is legally registered to the competitor in his state of residence prior to the event date. (A bill of sale will not fulfill the requirement for this rule.) The owner of the vehicle must be present at the event and must be the person who has registered to compete with it. Competitor may opt to have another person run said vehicle in the competition on his/her behalf.

15. In the event an issue arises that is not covered above the decision will be at the discretion of the head judge and the USACI Rules and Ethics Board.

too many people worry about how the name of the class fits the vehicle. quit fornicating whining about how you can play late night tip and the champion cant because the champion has the trophy and you have a crying towel. Build to win, not to make excuses.

There should also be a battery limit in Street Beat classes.

SB1- 1 battery
SB2- 2 batteries
SB3- 3 Batteries
SB4- open to 14.7
SB5- open to or above 14.7

Your stock battery counts as One.

With speaker point limit too.

It looks like it just comes down to the USACI cd. If it is a good cd with the beats changing freq. alot then it will solve alot of concerns.

That CD can help ALOT if done right.

the street beat cd could change a lot depending what kind of hz it plays on each song. they could make all songs +/- 30-45hz we will just have to wait until an official cd is produced.

John you come with your opinion and claim how things are SUPPOSED to be, sorry thats how YOU feel they should be. You "Female dog" about burp boxes, but show up with a wall right behind the b-pillar, not much difference there bud big deal you ate some of your port area with more subs thats your choice. You arent gonna be happy with the rules until it caters to your van.
Build to what the class allows if you wanna win, not to what in your opinion the class should be or you will be in the same boat each year.

Scott my box was not as loud because I had too many subs. It was a design for low bass and everyday use cheers

Isn't the wall suppose to right behind the b-pillar scratch

Plus I didn't come to Finals with any intent of winning my first year at finals affraid

I found my Streetbeat 5 score of 158.9db was more than I had hoped for and was very happy with my Finals weekend, so please don't bother trying to rain on my parade cheers

Lastly, the eight grand I spent on my van this year gives me the right, for any opinion that makes me feel that my money spent was justifiable scratch

If you think this class is a cake walk, come play in 09' king

If you think this class is a cake walk, come play in 09' king

And you cant tune low with less subs confused

The way you "Female dog" about people "burp machines" in SB is what I Was getting at the only difference between yours and theirs is the baffle and the time they put into it.

Never said your intent was to win, but you had to of whined more than anyone at finals, you knew what you were getting into by joining sb5 top of the top all out no holds barred why would you expect anything less than what it was

You spending 8 grand gives you no more of right to "Female dog" than the guy that spent $200 for just a membership or entry fee

Cake walk? Hellllllllll no I dont I know what it takes and know what to expect AND know not to whine about it when it happens.

All in all you seem like a nice guy man, but chillout and build for the class if you wanna run it and if you dont build for it then dont "Female dog" because what you think should of won didnt.

You arent gonna be happy with the rules until it caters to your van.
Build to what the class allows if you wanna win, not to what in your opinion the class should be or you will be in the same boat each year.

john i have to agree with navi... he makes a good point, people complain because the way it is doesn't cater to them.... THIS IS THE GAME U PLAY OR U DON'T!!!!
Why do you have to agree with navi and not john its about being your own man opinions and all

I am cool with you Scott cheers

Now that I have been school'd with some "Finals Experience" I am cool with playing in the gray area's of Streetbeat Basketball

I'm sure the next year of trying some new setups will get me a db or two for next finals. study

IMO a streetbeater should be real strong on the low end bass and the hard hitting bass that moves the meter Arrow

I'm also sure that if I want to contend for a title I would show up with a new burp box set up to play a song off the new USACI Seatbeat disc.

I'm sure too my new setup may be a lil more hefty than this year setup was study
