I'm sure the RD's will perform well, Atomic has designed some great woofers.
Steve from RD audio has admitted to not having any training in speaker design however he has been working through, in his words, "trial and error" to improve upon the woofers from SJA.
An entrepreneur, Steve doesnt have the knowledge or experience as Jassa or Scott Atwell, but he does seem to have the desire to sell car audio so more power to him, I hope all works well for him. His company is off to a terrible start with loads of haters and naysayers who accuse him of knowing nothing about design or the technology and doing little more than slapping an RD badge on somebody else's hard work. Well whether or not its true, everyone has to start somewhere and theres a plethora of competitors out there taking advantage of his huge discounts on product. Gotta give him credit there, why spend thousands researching and developing when you can have competitors pay you to do it for you. Brilliant.
As for me, I'm going to stick with the guys who answer specific questions about the product they offer. Call up Jassa, he'll tell you why this is like this and why it works. From what I've read, in countless threads, Steve will tell you he cant say and tell ya improvements come from trial an error, his words, not mine.
As negative as this sounds, really it isnt that big of a deal. Yes, he's pretty much a one man show running the business outta his house but if done properly he can grow large enough to facilitate a staff capable of designing RD products from scratch. Everyone has to start somwhere.
From me to RD Audio, I wish you the best of luck. You have some great competitors out there doing R&D for RD. Stick to it and I'm sure you will have success. The more American companies in car audio the better
Good Luck to all on Team Revolution and see you in the lanes.

| Kevin is a character who's a newer member of a forum i've been posting in for 6 years. In that forum many of us pride ourselves, well used to, pride ourselves in giving help, advice, and non-biased product reviews to newbie's looking for honest answers. Many of us know you wouldnt go to soundpressure to ask if JL makes good subs haha...so yeah this other forum was a place anybody could come to and ask about somethin without a bunch of band wagoners tellin ya certain brands are the best. Things in that forum have drifted from that, many of the resident members left because of the childish behavior from the ever growing moronic kids spamming the place up with off topic non-sense. But I and few others hung around the past few years posting here and there answering genuine questions. These days, topics are often times nothing more than kids asking if this or that is a good?, should they buy this?, will this amp sound good?, ect. stuff like that. Recently I had noticed that almost any and every time somebody would ask a question like this someone, sometimes Kevin, would chime in and tell them they should buy something from else. I began asking Kevin (along with others selling stuff) to please use the "For Sale" section of the forum to sell product. I was told to mind my own business and he'll do whatever he pleases. I still, asked him to please, use the for sale section, but only got the same responses. I gave up haha. That forum has seen its best days pass unfortunately, my last ditch efforts to bring it back have been shot down by many of the newbie's who use the forum as a meeting place to talk about random topics. Oh well right. So that is where our history lies. Other than that, Kevin may be a good guy, I don't know him personally so I won't (publicly) pass judgment. Kevin, I extend my offer to stick around USACi. We welcome all new comers and encourage everyone who has the competitive spirit to be a part of our organization. Feel free to contact me anytime for help or suggestions. Sorry to have brought this drama into our forum guys. Again again, sorry if I offended anybody or any company. Now can we let it go? BTW, to anyone interested, I'm now buying subs from SJA and I have some dust caps printed up "DB Gangsta Subs" if anyone wants some let me know, i'll undersell any retailer. haha, jk, its a joke don't get your panties in a wad (ps, thanks mike, i love you too) | |
