| Guy i am starting to see a lot of walls with these huge azz ports, ones that look like you could crawl into. Why do they use these types of ports? also are they tuned high or low? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I am in the middle of a build with a wall in a durango for eight rf p3 10's. I have bulit the wall with a 100 sq.inch port in the middle of the truck. have yet to hear it though, jus wondering would spl be better with subs on one side and a huge azz port on the other? this truck is not a daily driver so i really dont care what it sounds like as long as it reads high on the termlab meter. any help would be appreciated thanx. | |

| Yes, but sometimes there is a limit to the size port that could be used, unless you are useing a bp wall, then port becomes a little more tricky in size. | |

| Building a wall will take a lot of trial an error to get it right. You will have to do a lot of testing. | |

| walls are easy to get loud, huh geoff. didnt it take you a few years to get where your at? lol. the box size and port determine the tuning and not all woofers work well with big ports. | |

Not really. I havent changed my box since I first installed it(except a new baffle switching from 4 15s to 4 18s). I have about 3 weeks of work in my box the way it sits right now.

| 4 18" Cactus Sounds Elite Series woofers.
The most time I spent on the van was switching the back of it around with amps and such. You can ask alot of the local db draggers that is about the only interior that has changed.
Next week I'm ripping the whole wall/box out and rebuilding it the way I should have in the first place. SPL is definately trial and error.

What kind of subs are u using and how many? That is one factor that will determine box vol and port type and length.

It's all "personal preferance" on how you want your wall to be really. You can build it strickly for burping(spl) or you can build it for "daily pounding"(street beat). For enstance, the first wall I had was tuned at 55, and the wall that's inside my truck now is tuned at 49. I can do ether one but I build it really for "ground pounding" perposes.

| marvin what kind and how many subs u run in your wall? can 10's be used for high spl output, i have 8 rf p3 10's in a durango should the box be tuned really high to maxiamize sub output? the subs are in a wall with 100 Sq. inch port should i try a large port? project is still in build phase have not heard the way this box sounds or how it will do on meter. | |

| seeing as though i am the second in command when it came to building the box with tiger, i think it is tuned to about low 40's or lower. its been awhile since i seen the math on it. the last what 3 walls we done they were like 145 or 148 some where in there. i say sell the 10's and buy 4 T1 15's | |
