| 12. Importing a vehicle for show or display. Certain motor vehicles that are deemed to be of unusual historical or technological significance can be imported for purposes of show or display. Information on importing a motor vehicle for those purposes can be found on NHTSA’s website at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ShowDisplay/. When a vehicle is imported for purposes of show or display, it cannot be driven in excess of 2,500 miles per year. As a general rule, a motor vehicle will not be determined eligible for importation for purposes of show or display if more than five hundred vehicles of the same model were produced, if a version of the vehicle was originally manufactured for sale in the U.S. and certified as complying with all applicable FMVSS, or if the vehicle has been determined eligible for importation based on its capability of being modified to comply with all applicable FMVSS. http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/graymarket_RI_list010807.htmFEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC

| This isn't for "show" or "display" its SPL. So what if a Canadian competitor comes to USACi World Finals in the USA. I don't see anything where it talks about that. | |

| I would take "show" as the same as SPL competition which is a show if you think about it. I doubt many of the "serious" cars in the SPL lanes are driven even CLOSE to 2500 miles a year. I put less than 50 miles on my truck pulling it on and off of a trailer over a period of 5 years.
I've judged the a couple of the SMART cars in the SQ side of the house on a couple of different occasions. They weren't street legal in the US then but I don't know about now. I know I wouldn't want to drive one on the street!
This new car wouldn't happen to be a CRX killer would it?? I don't think I've heard this much "buzz" about a vehicle on this side of the house since everyone tried to rally to get the CRX's their own classes!

| I'll reword the question a little better then. Can a car that is registered to a person in Canada get points in USACi and come to USACi World Finals? | |

So you're saying a vehicle that was not legal to be street driven in the USA was indeed at shows and competing in USACI. Sounds fair enough to me.

| I thought I was reading a Termpro topic for a minute....... If I'm not mistaken TJ Stewart found the magical "loophole" for bringin one here and competing with it. At least that's what he said. I know he tried to get one of those stupid cars here for like 2yrs before. If SOMEbody brings a Panda here, I think it should be put up against a Panda build from a European competitor, not a crx, that's lame. Makes the odds more on the level for a "world" title in BUILDING vs. what you got. ps... I loved your "Panda" too Jeff, that was pretty damn funny. It would have gotten a good laugh at Drag finals too! | |

| Yes, I will like to know the outcome of this, Because I have one sitting in Canada. What about the old mini? People have them here in NY driving them on streets. They are right hand drive imported from overseas. What would that be classified as? I recall seeing one at finals. | |
