| I have a 90 Chevy ext cab pickup. I have heard that sound deadening hurts your spl score and also helps it. Wondering what the truth is and what areas you think need deadening if any and how much. Will be in mod class. | |

SPL Sound Pressure Level Sound Deadening= Killing sound. If your doing legal then yea I have heard of people using it because you want to make the vehicle as strong as possible to hold all the Pressure in the vehicle. Alot of vehicles that doing outlaw like to flex alil when running. just my 2 cents take it how you want....

| ITs a matter of applying and testing, you cant say put a 6 inch square here and it will make you louder, it varies between each vehicle. I literally apply a sheet and test and compare it to my reference, if it hurts it comes off if not it stays. My doors end up looking like a dynamat jigsaw puzzle but it works. | |

| Yep, it is all trial and error. testing, applying, testing, applying. Alot of work, but can gain a little doing it.
My van will have it on roof and back hatch. Even if it hurts a little, just don't want the back rattle and roof flex to much.

| Every car reacts differenly. My car lost a couple db's With that, but I had no more rattling. I rather have the rattling and extra db's than the quietness. | |

| I did inner and outer on my back doors and 2 layers on my roof. It sounds so much better and I gained .2 LOL. I used dynamat extreme. This is in a 2003 F150 crew cab. I have heard that the note will change but mine stayed 47hz. | |

it did in the rear and doors but after looking at the floor in the front i figured i would cover the front and cover over the rear. i have heard i may lose some but at the sametime i might add a little. if i don't break 160 i have an idea to try, but i am hoping this will work
