yes but it was never protested!! all you have to do to run it is protest it pay the fee give them the amp and they will test it and bam you can use it that is how it works but do you have the extra cash and amp to do that? you think a d5 is really 500w?

The 30% rule is for amps that are rated legally by the manufacturer. It is a tolerance because every amp wont put out the same exact power. You wouldn't let someone use two of these amps(prior to them being ruled illegal by Ralph earlier in the thread) in a 0-1000 class, would you?

Well, USACI is wrong then. The rules plainly state Manufacturer's rated power. In the above post I see a photographed copy of the PF600.1 spec sheet. It says 770 watts @ 4 ohm. How much simpler can it be. It is a 770 watt amp. It looks like USACI is going against it's own rules. It is blace and white, Manufacture's rated power. The Manufacture rates the amp for 770 watts. Plain and Simple. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. And never will.

I hate that we have hijacked this thread, just to expose one of the many problems with rules in USACI.

no you see it on the new pf600.1 and also seen the old pf600.1 one shown as well if anything the mau fucked up by changing it to 800@1 and it doesnt affect the old one

I think the problem is this. The amp was tested and accepted at a 600w amp.. but the manufacture published a higher rating on paper. And they shouldn't have. Because like you've all said. We don't subtract 30% from what's on paper.. buy how the rules are. The amp can now make 30% over 770 to be rated at 770w

On paper a atomic 5000.1 is 900@4ohm.. minus 30% off that. And tell me what's different than what you did with that 770 that's on paper

the pf600 was sent in to be certified usaci came out and told these manu's that they could send them in be certified and have the 30% marked off point blank what else do you need to know USACI did that it was there rule not the manu's

So if Adam was tested. And after the fact a manufacture rates it higher on its own free will that USACI honor what was tested? Cause ralph very clearly says its whatever is higher..

I was under the impression that amps that were rated at 600 but BELIEVED to do over 600 were protested and reclassified using the "30%" rule.

If they are published as higher than 600, then what is there to protest? You can't protest a 1000 watt amp to try and get it into a lower class, that doesn't make any sense.

Whether the PF600 is rated at 770 or 800 by the manufacturer, it's still higher than 600 watts and therefore cannot be used in a 0-600 class.

The D5, DD M3, etc. are all rated for LESS than 600 watts by the manufacturer, so thus they can be protested to make sure they fit within the 0-600 rating (with the 30% tolerance obviously).

Not sure whats so difficult to understand about that.

there was posts showing that amps were sent in and rated according the the findings of congent labs out of arizona the manu then had the opertuninty to take the rating or knock off 30% accroding to usaci (that was there arangement) in order to procure sponsors for finals ill assume.

use to be threds on here about all of this, but seems they have been removed because i have been looking for them

according to the amplifier certification according to usaci this was the deal the published rating int he manual didnt matter at that time.
