| Have not seen much on the forum on this, other than a small mention here and there, but what was everyone's thoughts on the location this year. I can't speak for Dallas, it is the one year I missed finals
Even though Shreveport was the longest drive for any of our finals, I thought overall, the location was great.
Thoughts??????

| Nice location. Great to have the host hotel and show at the same place...put your vehicle on charge and just walk up to the room. Hotel bar right there before the elevators too Bars and casinos within walking distance. | |

| Overall excellent location. If we do get a new contract, I'd make a couple suggestions: 1) Adjust the the "keep vehicles off" policy to a "at our discretion, you can run low emissions vehicles". On the one hand it was nice, because of some of the mega-polluting 80s trucks gave me a headache, dripped oil, etc... but for those of us with vehicles that pass emissions/inspection/daily drive... it would have been nice for tuning and demoing. 2) Adjust the "we can't open the gate" policy to a "every few hours, we'll allow cars in and out, with proper ID validation". I thought it was kinda silly that the Shreveport natives couldn't drive their vehicles home. No breakfast without a taxi either. It would also prevent the drama with the SQ guys nearly getting DQ'd, even though their their competition was finished. Some of this may have been USAC rules, but if it was convention center rules, let's make 2011 an EVEN BETTER finals. | |

Some of this may have been USAC rules, but if it was convention center rules, let's make 2011 an EVEN BETTER finals. This will not happen, the vehicles have to be off as much as possible. This is per fire marshall and venue rules, it has been this way at every venue, and every indoor event i have ever been to! BTW SHREVPORT FTMFW! Greatest location since KC, and from what I hear close to 1/3 the cost to A+ for booking this ShowB!tch Also CROSSFIRE 4 LIFE LOL

| do we need to have a huge indoor place? why dont you find a huge outdoor park. with a shelter for the cars. sounds like someone else right ppl? why does he do it? because it works, and you dont need freaking 1/8 tanks of gas,and ppl can demo fullblast with the cars running. | |

| A more centralized location would be ideal, your never going to make everyone happy, but thus far with changing it every year you have successfully pissed several more people off. Just doing minor reading back when it was in KC it seemed like everyone was happy and there was less bitching and moaning going on why is it so hard to get back to that? | |

I second this......if more could demo and stuff there would have been more cars and people seem to show up to a outside event even better than indoors for some reason.....scrapin the coast had more entries than finals and I was shocked by that.

Not a bad idea, but would need to have finals in a month that would not be cold as he#&. Seen some talk on having finals in the summer-not a bad idea imo.

| An outdoor venue would be great. I actually checked into that before I talked to Shreveport. The problem is I couldn't find a outdoor facility with tents or covered parking area that is centralized and cost efficent.
What I mean as centralized is Upper TX/LA, Lower OK/AR, if you know of a place please let me know. |

| According to the map, the most central location is in Kansas. Wiki says manhatten Ks,but sure there is more centralized location if you look at a map. | |

Did I get a A for effort though? Most definitely. I know having Finals all the way down at the south of the country is definitely hurting attendance for the show promoters in my area. At least that's what I am thinking. I know for a fact I won't run USACi cause I have no intentions of going to Finals that's a full day's drive one way and then some. If I would have known dbDRA was going to be in Florida I would have saved my money. But I'm ones of those guys that competes for points with intentions of going to Finals if I can muster up enough cash to go.

| Geoff I think there are a ton of people in your shoes, perhaps take a poll and see where each sponser is located? Then try to centralize the finals locations close to each of them making it possible for the maximum participation. | |

Well !!!!!!! that is what we like to hear , but can you guaranty the show promoters in your area and not just thinking , cause if I understand well you don't even have intentions to run USACI cause you won't attend finals . Most most the competitors for USACI are in the TX , ,MS, LA, KS , OK , well the south ................ I am sure if anyone 'ANYWHERE WOULD GUARANTY A GREAT SHOW TO USACI " USACI would have the finals there. But , I guess is the same reason I don't run IASCA ,cause there finals are to damn far from home and I am sure they don't miss me or going to move there finals close to me to run them........................I just simply have to go to Daytona one year.
