| ok so i am keeping my stock battery location and putting kinetik 2400's in the back do i need to put a battery isolator in line with them or will they be ok? ive heard people say you have to have 1 and ive heard its just a precaution! | |

| My dealings in the past is that generally an isolator will not send full voltage to the aux battery. Most were designed more as a trickle charge just to maintain the aux batt. Someone else may have a different opinion but this has been my experience. I would not use an isolator. if you need to kill power to the back batt then use a very high amp rated circuit breaker. but who needs protection | |

| The main use of an isolator is to seperate the front batter from the rear. If you listen to the stereo with the car off, you could run the batteries dead. And therefore not be able to start your car. The isolator will connect the batteries while the car is on and running, then disconnect the batteries when the car is off. Thus allowing you to start you car after running the rear battery dead. | |
