| My old lady had a Pioneer headunit that would turn itself down... it had an unreplaceable issue with the circuitry controlling the volume knob. Had to replace it.
I used to have a Sony unit, with a volume button that would press, but not return. Performed surgery 3 times, then replaced it.
Moral of the story, check the breakable bits, and exposed connections on the back of the faceplate... anything that is more prone to failure. You may just need a new unit though.
Any more details you can give us? ie, Does the displayed volume change, headunit model, age of unit, hard wire vs. harness adapter.... anything might help. | |
